Pros

Working directly with business owners, cross team coordination, sophisticated leadership team and great location in the heart of China town. Multi city availability with a road map headed towards acquisition. Had the opportunity to travel to L.A , friday lunches, great holiday parties.

Cons

Internal promotions and upward mobility are limited if you are a challenger, out spoken or want more for youself and clients, despite being a hard worker and loyal to the brand. Based on Sweeten's recent internal promotions, it is clear management favors those who went to similar colleges, have similar socioeconomic back grounds and think similarly to those of management despite being founded by POC from varied backgrounds. New ideas get stunted early on my monotone naysayers, which is why so few of the original team is still with the company and all of management looks exactly the same.

Amazing little company

Pros

This is the only place I've worked where I literally like everyone and think everyone's smart. It all trickles down from the CEO, who has real vision, is charismatic, and has great instincts for people. The company culture is supportive, without any hints of toxic politics or backstabbing. People care about the company goals and about each other. Things are lean during the 2020 pandemic. But the management team is doing all the right things, and is not wasting any time.

Cons

While everyone is working remotely, it's a bit trickier to find a good work-life balance. This is probably more about the times than about the company. No 401K matching.
