Company is crumbling

Pros

Some individuals are very talented, remote

Cons

Having just been laid off, I want to share some honest perspective. There never seemed to be a clear strategy — more of a reaction to what competitors were doing. The roadmap often felt like feature-chasing instead of building something truly differentiated, and that showed in the product experience. Leadership felt outdated and overly top-down. There was a lot of talk, but not enough modern execution. Favoritism was hard to ignore — important roles often went to loyalists over qualified experts. When layoffs happened, there was little accountability at the top, while strong contributors were the ones let go. That disconnect is ultimately what hurt the company the most.

Pros

Zero. You have the choice not to work here.

Cons

Abysmal. Questionable and unethical business practices. All the negative reviews here are true. Don’t trust leadership, HR, Sales, or those provider reference videos. One big money grab by investors.

The worst experience of my career. Run!!

Pros

There are a lot of talented people who truly care about what they do. It’s an Apple-first company with great MacBooks. The company is not afraid to spend money on good tech. Plus, it’s remote.

Cons

Working at Symplast was a soul-crushing experience. The negative reviews here do not lie. I don’t know a single employee who is truly happy there. The culture is the worst I have experienced in my career. This stems from leadership at the top. The CEO exhibits narcissistic and egotistical behavior that sets the tone for the entire organization. Rather than leading, he relies on intimidation and fear. It is very much “his way or the highway.” Differing viewpoints are not tolerated. This pattern is consistently echoed by current and former employees. The company cycled through four executive leaders in a single year, which speaks volumes about leadership stability. Priorities change constantly, creating ongoing stress and confusion for teams. HR is effectively non-existent and engages in questionable practices. Employees should carefully review the employee agreement, which appears designed to discourage employees from speaking out. That’s how bad it is. Talk with former employees, and you will hear strikingly similar experiences. Do not take a job here unless it is your only option. You will regret it.
