Once the best company to work for, Covid hit and working there went downhill
Pros
Initially there was good flexibility, in terms of working hours, working location, and technical development of your own specific interests within the job. There was also a great team who worked well together and became friends outside company hours. I think the thing that still exists is the flexibility around working hours and location. Younger staff will progress quickly in a sink or swim environment.
Cons
Inconsistency in expectations, no effort by management to delve into career goals or advise on elements of the role to improve in a formal way. Yearly professional reviews were not yearly and they had to be asked for. No technical development is allowed, or if it is allowed it has to be chargeable and therefore relevant to a job, so no scope for riskier tech dev. High level of turnover and redundancies has left the office culture a shadow of its former self. Company structure has gone from flat and relatively equal to extremely top heavy and there is still no proper leadership within that level. Mid level and senior staff do not have the ability to climb much further
