Pros

Easy to see what not to do

Cons

After working at Tru Inc. for 1.5 years, I can confidently say it was not a positive experience. The company operates without any meaningful internal structure, established process, or strategic direction. There are no defined workflows, no accountability systems, and no clear leadership alignment, which makes it extremely difficult to perform effectively or feel supported. During my time there, I saw consistent turnover and confusion caused by a lack of experienced leadership. Many of the individuals promoted into management roles were new to their fields and lacked the skills or experience to guide a team. Promotions seemed to be based not on performance or merit, but on a willingness to work excessive hours without compensation. This created a culture of burnout rather than productivity or professional growth. Despite the constant demand for long hours and “taking one for the team,” there was no recognition or fair reward for hard work. Communication from leadership was often inconsistent, and feedback was rarely constructive or actionable. The result was an unstructured environment where employees were expected to self-manage without clear expectations or support. From a learning perspective, there is very little to gain. This is not an environment that fosters mentorship, growth, or skill development — instead, it operates in constant reaction mode. Even on the client side, projects were handled with minimal strategy, planning, or professionalism, often leaving both clients and internal teams frustrated and overextended. Overall, Tru Inc. is one of the most disorganized and unprofessional environments I’ve experienced. There’s no foundation for stability, no real leadership development, and no appreciation for employee well-being. If you’re looking for a workplace that values structure, growth, and professional respect, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Pros

DO NOT WORK HERE - all the postive comments were an incentive upper management came to a small handful of people and asked us to write good reviews.

Cons

I would strongly advise anyone considering a role at TRU to do their homework before accepting an offer. The biggest issue is the culture. Leadership often operates from a top-down, fear-based management style that creates an environment of stress rather than support. Employees are expected to perform at a high level, but there is little investment in mentorship, training, or professional development. Constructive feedback is rare, while criticism is common. There is a significant disconnect between leadership and the day-to-day reality of employees. Decisions frequently feel reactive, priorities change constantly, and expectations are often unclear. Many employees are left trying to navigate shifting goals without the resources needed to succeed. Career growth doesnt exist. Contributions are often overlooked, and recognition tends to be inconsistent. Employee turnover is high, which should tell prospective candidates something about the overall experience. Morale was low, communication was poor, and the workplace often felt more political than collaborative. Do a deep dive into the executive levels at this company (none of them have actual experience)

Pros

To be very honest... Nothing!

Cons

Stay away from this place. "Upper Management" is a bunch of people who couldn't make it anywhere else on a power trip... Their attitude is extremely toxic. There is a reason it's mostly people with no Canadian experience working at TRU... Just google the CEO's name in Google News and you will find what you need to find about how they practice their business :D
