Pros

Honestly, the best people you can work with. I only left as I had to move away. You are awarded so many wonderful opportunities for growth and career development and the learning is constant. Promotions are constantly reviewed and salaries are competitive so as long as you’re doing your job well, you will thrive! There is a genuine focus on both employee wellbeing and diversity & inclusion and the team is constantly involved in exciting initiatives that all employees can help out with. Tangerine also have an extremely competitive benefits package, with a very generous holiday allowance, flexible working, a referral scheme and recognition program just to highlight a few. The senior leadership team is second to none. Really supportive and genuinely care about the work they do and their staff.

Cons

Nothing really! As long as you’re a team player and good at what you will do, you’ll love it. If you’re thinking about working here, go for it!

Pros

Some great clients to work with, good expertise & knowledge, opportunities to work across some fun campaigns

Cons

In my experience Tangerine employ young marketers and want blood, sweat and tears. You will be expected to work unpaid overtime on tasks until the job is done. They had little interest in progressing my career as a junior marketer. Don't take my word for it, though - ask about their staff turnover rate. I found the culture to be extremely toxic - while i was there they had a group Whatsapp chat for out of works social gatherings that i was never invited to join, despite enquiring about it. It felt very cliquey. I think Tangerine are an exceptionally talented bunch, with lots of awards to prove it - but they need to realise that people would rather have an inclusive workplace culture and a kinder, more nurturing approach to management than awards on the shelves.

Pros

You get to work with some big clients that are good for your portfolio. Training budget available for you to learn some new skills.

Cons

This role took a huge toll on my mental health. The whole culture is built to serve the higher ups, or the favourites (which you'll quickly know if you are). You regularly won't get lunch breaks and are lucky if you ever finish on time. Expected to work late or log on on weekends with no thanks or appreciation. Due to the work mobile, you will be expected to be contactable 24/7, sometimes even during annual leave. Agency work generally is busy, yes, but a complete lack of work life balance is unhealthy. Blame culture is strong, it's always pushed down onto the lower roles if something goes wrong, and credit is often only give to seniors.
