Pros

Close to the Metro--and you will need to show up every day, so charge up that Smartcard.

Cons

Precariously placed in between small and medium sized. Not a respectful place for mature professionals, and age will be held against you. Offices are deteriorating, and 3 to 4 people are crammed in one small office, despite floor space that could be used for a better environment. People are used as temporary commodities, often pitted against one another, creating an atmosphere of distrust. Men have a comaraderie, but women are isolated. Leadership is competitive with employees, rather than using advanced experience as a way to improve their processes and stage them for the anticipated growth.

Pros

Flexible work schedules are great. The government client is very easy to work with. The scope of work is manageable and not overwhelming.

Cons

- Inexperienced Leadership. Managers and even those in very senior positions are very green, junior and lack skills to successfully lead teams. - No Advancement for Experienced Professionals. Tantus has a very flat structure. When there are opportunities, experienced professionals are passed over for those with far less experience. - Huge Lack of Diversity. Tantus gets a failing grade in promoting diversity and treating all people fairly. - Work provided to government client does not add value. Tantus is a middleman, working between the government and the infrastructure and development contractors. Many duties performed are a duplicated effort or provides little, if any difference to contract duties.

Thank you for the feedback! At Tantus, we realize there is more to life than just work, so when possible, we try to provide flexibility in work schedules. We enjoy the partnerships we have developed with our clients and our managers work diligently to make sure that workloads are fair. We try to provide the best service to our clients and a great working environment for our employees. We will work closely with the Program Manager to review the managers on the program and see where improvements can be made. If you would like to share any experiences with me, I would be happy to have a conversation. Regarding the “no advancement for Experienced Professionals” comment, we have recently rolled out a career development program specifically designed to ensure that our employees do have a path for advancement. When we do have open positions, we look for the best fit for the position, not necessarily who has the most experience. Things such as leadership skills, communication skills, technical skills, are taken into consideration. Although someone may have more years of experience, it doesn’t necessarily mean they may be the best fit for a new opportunity. Regarding Tantus’ diversity, our workforce, and especially our management, is extremely diverse. Our overall workforce is made up of 53% minority employees and 51% female employees. Our management team is made up of 44% minority employees and 52% female employees. We are very proud of our diversity. Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

Since the pandemic there has been a myriad of nic nacs sent to my home.

Cons

I want this to be a meaningful review first to provide insightful information to those who are making employment decision not just based on salary and second for the company to be aware of the true feelings of one of their employees with hopes that this could strike change. As a govcon, culture will always be an issue but the patterns of the company provides some insight to the culture. Patterns that I have noticed: Managers are in place that simply do not have the skills to manage people. I would like to know what criteria is in place for hiring managers but most importantly promoting managers. My current manager receives credit for the teams success and yet provides no knowledge or support and this has simply gotten worse since COVID, yet is making at least 30k more than me and team members. Speaking of salary, zero pay transparency. I will advise CURRENT EMPLOYEES READING THIS ASK YOUR FELLOW TEAM MEMBERS WHAT THEIR SALARY IS ... YOU WILL BE SURPRISED. Same credentials and experience doing the same job yet your co worker is making at least 5k more with an additional week of PTO. Clearly the company has funds to spend as employees (potentially hundreds) have received multiple "free things" but I bet raises will not move past 2%. Communication is underlined with lies to protect themselves. Large contracts are in jeopardy and employees are leaving but we keep hearing we are positioned well, then why are you not fighting for key personnel to stay onboard? Other reviews rave about diversity yet not one African American in this mid size company is apart of the Executive Team, in 2021 this is alarming. Last but not least forget about professional development - It was addressed when I was hired and has not been addressed since regardless of my own efforts Long story short - I do not recommend Tantus as a place of work. Due to current circumstances my option are limited, but I am actively looking for a new employer.
