Pros

Great people at the worker level.

Cons

VP of Development lacks professionalism, yells and swears at people. Engineering has gone from a great place to work with empowered teams, to very tops down with executive leaders scrutinizing and reviewing code and second guessing every decision. People are afraid to speak up for fear of losing their job. Pay has been cut with loss of ESPP, RSU's and lower bonus amounts. Decision was made to change the pay to be in arrears, which docked everyone one week of pay in 2023.

Thank you for sharing your experience. TaxAct values and respects its employees, and we want to address some of the concerns you have raised. TaxAct did switch its pay schedule to paying employees in arrears. At no point was any pay docked from employees and all employees continue to receive pay for all time worked. As for your complaint of a manager being disrespectful to employees, we take this very seriously and we have addressed the situation.

Pros

Lots of overtime hours Good entry tech job

Cons

The management treat you like children. Very condescending and strict. Can take non-stop calls, but get scolded if you want to take a bathroom break. Software changes frequently, but the reps are not told anything about the changes.

Pros

The team I currently have contains people that are caring and compassionate. The pay isnt too bad and I get to work from home. They do things like, pay for us to go to their Christmas party in Dallas, TX. This includes reimbursement for the hotel, airfare and food. We were still being paid for the time we were at the Christmas party too.

Cons

The senior leadership team does not like it when you state your opinion, especially if it doesn't coincide with their opinion. I was told that my demeanor was a problem because I was expressing frustration after they insinuated that my team was being lazy and stubborn all because we told them a piece of software wasn't adequate. They are so customer focused that they allow their customers to be verbally abusive to their agents and then give those customers discounts or refunds just to retain them. Those customers then come back and continue to verbally abuse agents because they were rewarded for it last time.
