Cons

This company is a bit of a disaster. They've recently come out of voluntary administration, which they blamed covid for publicly, but when the financial investigation report was released it showed years of financial struggle. The leadership team is basically the same, minus one person, so I don't hold out much hope that sometime within the next few years they won't be back in trouble. They operate a 'blame' culture so be prepared to spend a fair bit of time defending every decision you make if anything is delayed, goes wrong, etc. -They don't offer any training or management support, they have no policies or processes to follow. so you fly blind but if you crash, it's your fault. --I should correct. They do have policies and processes however they change at the whims of management and they're not enforced. People follow them if they feel like following them, which means they might as well not exist. Leadership is run by people who don't understand their own technology. Mix this in with the blame culture and you can imagine how hard it is to defend a decision because first you have to explain the actual technology and how it works in a way they understand. If you can get through that without being interrupted or told they don't have time for this, then you get to try and defend your decision while they question everything with hindsight. It'd be less painful and a more efficient use of time to just shoot yourself in the foot. You will be held responsible to management and/or to clients over issues you had no control over. For example, they use the cheapest hardware and software on the market, you have no choice over that, but you will have to answer to the client when preventable things go wrong because they used the cheaper version of something, even if you tried to talk management out of the decision prior to the project. Pay is an issue for everyone unless you're in the leadership team. Even mid- management doesn't make much for what they're expected to do, the hours they have to work and the fact that they're used as human shields against angry clients. If you do decide to work for this company my biggest advice is this. 1. Do your research. Not just on the company but more importantly know your own rights as a worker. They will push you as far as you let them. They will work you 7 days a week for months on end. (It's happened to me, it's happened to multiple others as well.) You won't get paid overtime, you won't even earn time in lieu unless you fight for it. 2. Get it in writing. Everything. Every promise. And make sure it's a guarantee when it's in writing, not worded so that it's still up to management discretion. (A few people have been screwed out of tens of thousands in bonuses this way.) If you have no experience or limited, this is a place to start but I wouldn't recommend staying longer than a year, max 2. They just can't compete with other companies when it comes to pay, culture or even just basic respect for their employees. The main reason to move on is if you actually want to turn this industry into a fulfilling career. Techfront offers very minimal training opportunities if any at all and since they use the most basic hardware available you'll quickly master it. After that it becomes a bit stagnant working for them and the best thing for your career will be to move on.
