Pros

Some fantastic and talented individuals who genuinely want to do well and make the customer experience better.

Cons

Owner is an out-of-control dictator who answers to and listens to nobody, operating outside company policy. Zero trust is given to the staff, and every manner of surveillance is in place without any given reason, and often counter to productivity. Keystrokes are logged, screenshots are taken regularly, application usage is tracked, and a Teams video chat is required to be going all day with your face visible. Monthly company meetings are merely an opportunity for the owner to list his gripes and berate the company all at once, regardless of performance or validity of any shortcomings. The irony of it all is that the hiring process drips with talk of creating a quality team of people who will work well together for the common good, and he has succeeded in doing that. The employees of Tecology are some of the best I have ever worked with, but are employed by a paranoid man-child. Everyone operates there in an environment that resembles 'children' trying not to upset an abusive all-powerful father figure.

We would like to clarify the following factually inaccurate item(s): “Teams video chat is required to be going all day with your face visible” While a virtual office was temporarily created when our workforce dispersed at the start of COVID this was always seen as a temporary solution and is no longer in place.

Pros

The best thing about Tecology is that things keep improving and people are valued. It is low stress and people-oriented. Ignore older reviews from bitter folks. This is the right place for someone who wants to be part of a team.

Cons

A fair amount of turnover, but the right people stay on. It is unusually quiet.

Pros

This is a good place if you have no experience.

Cons

-Low pay -Owner is a micromanager, and believes they are an SME in everything -They lied about bonuses -Time tracking requirements are insane, you will be expected to track literally every minute of your time and bill in increments of 4 minutes -there is no opportunity for development, training, or growth -morale is the worst of anywhere I’ve ever worked -the owner keeps his operations/hr person in his office, and the other high reviews are likely whomever that person currently is and the owner -vacation time and sick time policy was convoluted and was the least generous of any company I’ve ever worked at. I am not sure it meets WA legal minimums

We would like to clarify the following factually inaccurate item(s): “Low pay” To ensure competitive compensation, Tecology reviews wages annually with a labor market data analysis company. If pay increases in the market for any role, compensation is increased for all team members in that role. Tecology is fully transparent with compensation in job postings. “They lied about bonuses” All bonus overviews and details are documented and presented to employees. “Time tracking requirements are insane, you will be expected to track literally every minute of your time and bill in increments of 4 minutes” Tecology has a standard time clock system. As a service company, time billable to clients must be tracked, however, we do not expect employees to track every minute of their time. “there is no opportunity for development, training, or growth” Continuous development is a primary focus and key pillar in our employee evaluation process. Promotions and bonus opportunities exist for all employees who are committed to learning. “the owner keeps his operations/hr person in his office” I’m unsure of when this team member worked for us. Operations/HR did share an office due to space. Our office moved more than a year ago and this is no longer the case. “vacation time and sick time policy was convoluted and was the least generous of any company I’ve ever worked at. I am not sure it meets WA legal minimums” We think it’s a simple system- a single pool to use for any PTO needs (sick or vacation) and exceeds the Washington legal minimums by 3x excluding additional PTO bonuses.
