Chaotic Leadership and Poor Morale – Avoid if You Can

Pros

- Some talented and hardworking colleagues - Brand recognition in the industry

Cons

- Terrible Leadership: Decision-making is reactive, not strategic. Constant shifts in direction create confusion and instability. - Toxic Culture and Poor Morale: With four layoffs/reorganizations in two years, employees live in fear. Leadership offers little transparency or reassurance. - Unethical Practices: Severance packages were changed after layoffs, showing a complete disregard for employees’ well-being. - Lack of Inclusion: Despite being a Hispanic-focused company, there are very few Hispanics in leadership roles, and there are no active employee resource groups to support diverse employees. - Zero Job Security: The company has a track record of hiring aggressively, only to cut staff a few months later. No clear growth plan, just constant cost-cutting.

Pros

1. Great opportunity for Mexico: The US workforce was reduced to boost employment in Mexico. 2. Cost efficient strategy: Replacing experienced professionals with lower-salary hires. 3. Cultural preservation: Prioritizing Televisa’s outdated practices over modern innovation. 4. Unifying vision: Merging two distinct brands by disregarding Univision’s progressive approach. 5. Talent everywhere… except the USA: As talent left, mediocrity filled the gaps.

Cons

1. Lack of compassion: Mass layoffs in the USA, entire departments relocated to Mexico. 2. Loss of talent: Experienced US teams were replaced with less qualified hires. 3. Brand inconsistency: ViX’s modern vision replaced by Televisa’s outdated style. 4. Cultural clash: Univision’s modern approach clashed with Televisa’s traditional methods. 5. Low Salaries: The abrupt changes left remaining employees demotivated and less pay!
