Pros

The relationship building with co staff and students is awesome. Free meal while on shift.

Cons

If you’re not a favorite, you will be treated poorly by upper management. When you’re not liked they will do anything to fire you. Even if that means falsifying their accusations. They preach “do not triangulate” but do so themselves. If you’re not white they will treat you less than those that are. They’ll Let unsafe staff take kids off campus and won’t fire that staff for negligence but will fire if you’re late to work. They do random drug screenings but won’t test you if you’re a favorite. This happens all the time. There are many double standards. You can’t work full time if you’re a mentor but they’ll pay their lead staff full time salary to only work 3 days a week. There’s a lot of iffy things that go on with upper management and leadership staff.

Pros

Flexible work schedule Gain good experience Rewarding helping students make progress Other staff are fun to talk to Directors willing to write letters of recommendation and set goals for gaining degrees Some small ways to move up in the company On the whole, an okay treatment program and staff genuinely try to help as much as possible. Clinical Director

Cons

Upper management/ Directors are disconnected from the day-to-day and feed you lines. Play favorites and don't hold some people accountable Executive, life skills, and student living directors are dismissive or punitive when issues are brought up Stressful work environment Bad work/ life balance and support Below market value pay (Less than 35k a year), especially for Bachelor's degrees (though they think they are competitive) Expensive benefits Poor PTO accrual rates HR is only there to protect the company and is borderline unethical Low raises, only offered once a year (max 4% which doesn't keep up with inflation) Starting pay for life coaches has been the same for years despite inflation Life coaches are having literal mental breakdowns and need their own in-patient treatment.

Pros

Flexible schedule (life coaches make their own)

Cons

Low Pay for a degree, expensive benefits, management plays favorites, and to be come a favorite get ready to work 60 hour weeks doing everything for your students instead of teaching them INDEPENDENT living skills. The more you can make yourself look better the better.
