      Pros

12 hour shifts means fewer days a week to work

      Cons

If you're non union prepare to be used as a scapegoat for everything. They write you up for everything and are unwilling to work with your availability, so good luck going to school or having kids.

        Pros

Only reason I have lasted 7+ years is because of the Amazing nurses (those that are left) and the flexible/accommodating work schedule.

        Cons

Have lost sooooo many great highly experienced nurses in the last 4 years. These nurses had worked for this surgery center for 10+ years…when I first started most of these nurses had been there for years. Now the place has unfamiliar faces with only a few of us left. Administrator has driven out some of our best people. Her response to everyone as to why people keep leaving is they have “found something closer to home”. Such lies that she probably tells corporate & partners. We can’t retain staff and when we finally hire they leave within months. The administrator who has no medical experience constantly undermines nurse managers with staffing. Even when we have raised concerns with patient safety she simply does not care.

It is important that our employees feel they are always heard. We are sorry to hear about your experience but appreciate you voicing your concern. We have shared your feedback with our leadership team, but we also encourage you to discuss this with your supervisor.

          Cons

It's a very reactive and "blame-heavy" atmosphere, especially towards nursing. High rates of turnover for nursing and leadership.

                      Cons

Patient care is rushed. Time needs to be taken to ensure that the patient’s are getting the best care possible in the safest manner possible. Nurses need more time to prepare, assess, and educate patients prior to procedures.

Is it bad interview etiquette to ask about salary expectations WHEN the recruiter fails to bring that up in our screener? I did it so we could ensure alignment and the recruiter said she ‘usually waits to do that after the first call’ 🙄

Has anyone ever requested another recruiter while starting the interview process? I had a bad experience with one at Republic. It was really bad to the point she wasn't remembering conversations and ghosted me about follow-ups. She reached out to me about a job I applied for a few months ago but I don't want to go through the same experience. Then again, maybe her lack of accountability is indicative of the work environment at that particular company and I shouldn't even bother.
