Pros

there are no pros to this company. Do not work here if you have any other options.

Cons

This company is awful to work for. They hold group interviews every three months because worker turn over is outrageous. After the interview they call you in for orientation and once you get there and are shown around then make you work with no warning. Training is sink or swim. If you can't catch on they do not care and the training if half assed most of the time. No one learns correctly so senior technicians struggle making up for the work load. After training they just put you on the tests with no intent on helping you. The hours are miserable. Be prepared to spend 50-55 hours a week in the lab with no set out times. The equipment is on average 20 years old and if new equipment is purchase it is always used. Equipment rarely works. The average down time for equipment for the week is probably 30 hours.

Pros

1. Differences are accepted/encouraged. 2. Ideas are considered, continuous improvement. 3. Hard work is NEVER overlooked 4. Monday through Friday 5. Always something new to learn, assortment of trainings offered 6. Knowledge based raises 7. Plenty of hours 8. Promote from within

Cons

The only thing that I could ever think of as a con is the fact that as a Lab Technician you do not have a set out time. That being said, Management is VERY flexible if things in your personal life are going on.

Pros

They usually hire within the company when new positions open up, before looking outside of the company, which means a lot of opportunities to move around and gain new experiences in different departments. Healthy snacks every Wednesday and free food twice a month. Fun activities, like potlucks during holidays and a pumpkin carving contest on Halloween.

Cons

You never know what time you're going to get out. You could end up working 8 hours or 15 hours (the longest I have worked in one day). The lab department seems to receive the least amount of appreciation from upper management. High turnover rate and no one really seems to be doing anything to try and fix that--to try and keep lab techs from burning out so quickly. It feels like we are always understaffed in the lab but that could be because a lot of people are allowed to schedule off on the same day, when there used to be an unspoken rule in place that no more than three people could have off on the same day.
