Pros

The vast majority of people who work at The Associated have a good heart and are committed to making our community a better place. Days off are plentiful with holidays, and there is a commitment to job security.

Cons

1. A bit old fashioned and risk-adverse. 2. Very hierarchical. 3. "Tight budget" is used as an excuse for everything from leaving positions open to denying worthy employees raises and promotions. 4. There are many "perks" that seem nice, but are now almost standard at every other organization (no longer making them perks...).

Pros

Committed to allowing employees to have lives outside of work. Offer generous benefits and time off to support that.

Cons

Lack of accountability. People are not held to same standards and there a many employees with longevity that because of their years of service make high salaries but don’t contribute.

Pros

- Lots of paid time off - Benefits are fantastic - Great work-life balance (it took a pandemic for senior leadership to be ok with letting employees work from home, but at least they do now) - Can be a great place to grow your career and depending on your department, it can be really fun - Mission-driven organization that is really working to improve the community - Improvements in IT infrastructure and use of technology (it's just unfortunate many employees are resistant to learning and adopting new technology)

Cons

- Leadership is extremely resistant to any type of change - Afraid to show any type of diversity - Lack of accountability - No performance-based compensation or promotions - you have some employees who work extremely hard and others who do the bare minimum, but unfortunately, everyone is compensated the same way, and pretty unfairly. - Constant complaining amongst employees and management with zero intention of improving or taking feedback seriously - Leadership constantly passing off work to lower level employees but then not listening to their new ideas - Takes a really long time for any new ideas or changes come to fruition
