Pros

- Mostly friendly colleagues, tends to hire young talent

Cons

- Disfuctional management who consistently prioritise financial gain over employee wellbeing - Extremely poor starting wages, reluctance to increase pay in alignment with hard work carried out by staff, bare minimum holiday allowance, no other tangible perks aside from occasional snacks or free pizza during meetings. - No professional/personal development opportunities and little prospect for career progression (often none depending on department). Little acknowledgement/reward for work. - Loud and intrusive Sonos stereo system with choice of music dominated by two to three long standing employees - Disruptive and obnoxious "sales bell" that sales team are pressured into ringing throughout the day, accompanied by over the top cheering and applause. This can be heard throughout the entire office. - Management extremely hostile to genuine constructive feedback from employees and very little resource allocated to rectifying even minor roadblocks. - Little transparency across entire organisation - Gossipy and cliquey work environment - Extrememly high turnover for a small company - Behaves (and refers to itself) as a startup in spite of operating for over 10 years

Pros

- Friendly colleagues - The occasional excellent bake sale

Cons

- Out of touch, aggressive management who can't take criticism, are slow to make changes, and don't care about their employees on a human level - No sick pay and very little compassionate leave - No reward or recognition (financial or otherwise) for hard work, and little opportunity for promotion - Extremely low starting salaries whenever they can get away with it - Roadblocks and a lack of resources to any positive changes you suggest - Terrible culture where you are expected to give your all and then be grateful for the occasional free pizza lunch - Petty cliques and an exceptionally high turn over. 35 people left in the year i was there, some people got grand send offs, most were passive aggressively shunted, and the company at large was not told where they went or that they were going - The management talk to you like they're reading out of a management book about how to manipulate people - Minimum holiday days - An absolute inability to take feedback on any or all of the above without being threatened with dismissal or told you're the problem, not the company

Pros

Difficult to think of any apart from the unrelated cafe and restaurants downstairs in the building, and if you're so inclined, you can get away with doing very little actual work. The picture painted on the company website is a total fallacy. Don't fall for it.

Cons

- Comically bad management, no clear structure, inadequate training and support. Managers given no guidance or info to enable them to manage. - The business (The Beans Group as a whole) considers itself a start up (even after 10 years) but uses the label as an excuse, rather than actually behaving like one. Actually management offer no direction and have no original ideas, while also failing to enable to staff who do. - The depressing, uninspiring work environment and sense of futility had long-term negative effects on me
