Pros

Work during Covid lockdown period.

Cons

Was employed with the intention of 5 shifts per week. Shifts were cut to 2 per week which was financially unsustainable. When I was offered another job 5 days a week I gave a weeks notice (I was casual). Was not paid for any shifts from the previous fortnight.

Pros

paid breaks, time and a half on Sundays, the food and coffee are good

Cons

upper management are horrible to all employees including shop managers, they will take everything out on the manager and not communicate directly to shop staff. managing director is super unprofessional and unbelievably rude to employees. employees are regularly WATCHED on the cameras (seriously messed up) and if anything looks out of place they will complain to the shop managers, not the employee themselves. using cctv to monitor employees performance is seriously intrusive and not something which you want to be aware of when you're working. employees are expected to take up shifts in other locations because of poor staff retention all across the board, we were also contacted far too often out of hours and late at night. it is also not the employees fault how much money they make in a day, stop putting the responsibility on store managers and retail staff to get to your profit targets and waste targets. pay is minimum wage, 10.50, and yet our work in the butlers pantry is worth so so much more than minimum wage. employees are paid the lowest amount it is legally possible to be paid, however the company certainly portrays an image to their customers that is of a higher class than the reality where employees are paid minimum wage. if it was legal to pay us less they would. remember that. the customers treat employees like excrement and it is NOT worth it to deal with Karens and all sorts for such low pay. the customers treat you like an NPC whose only purpose is to serve them, they raise their voice or get angry at shop staff, they say we ruined their sixtieth birthday, or Christmas, or call us expletives, generally using rude language and tone of voice to employees because of the upmarket image that attracts entitled customers of all ages.

Pros

I worked with such nice people in the store customers could be nicer.

Cons

This company has a lot of dramatics, everything is drama. This causes stress in all parts of the job. A gaslighting MD which everyone in the company is aware of but do nothing. Very rude and unprofessional.
