If you are good at writing about antitrust - which is a VERY specific niche - then you will excel here. My background is not antitrust but I was often reminded by the higher-ups that I was hired as a storyteller first and an antitrust reporter second. This wasn't especially helpful when my pitches were constantly turned down. Communication at this company is poor at best, and while there are some people who do good work here, it is essentially a vanity publication run by someone who wants to provide a service to antitrust regulators and various business executives but is not himself a journalist. My employment ended abruptly after a six-month power struggle during which I was pitted against a colleague and ultimately the colleague won. I was terminated over the phone and negotiated three weeks severance. It was a poor end to an experience where I'd been repeatedly told I was a welcome addition and by the end was being ignored in group meetings.
