Pros

Platinum benefits - 25 or 30 days of PTO annually, summer Fridays (get out at 1:00 p.m. on Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day), lunch provided daily at no cost to employees, health insurance options requiring no employee contribution (and full coverage for dependents), and retirement contributions starting at 11.125% of salary (up to 20%, based on age). With it being an endowed foundation, there was also a sense of job security.

Cons

The culture of the organization could really improve as far as internal communications, training supervisors how to actually manage their staff (instead of relying solely on their content expertise), and actually articulating shared work values. Some staff were extremely hostile or rude, and there was never a sense that you could do anything to change that.

Decent place but not good for the long term

Pros

- opportunities to take on new projects - great benefits - respectful culture -great exposure to the world of health policy -working here can really expand your network

Cons

- understaffed - work/life balance challenging - room for growth (in job role and salary) limited - your workload and experience really depend on the manager you have- some can be difficult (indecisive, flaky, unresponsive, complicate things by not following standard practices/procedures, push work they can take care of onto already overburdened staff). - managers that need to be managed by their staff

Nearly 100 year old organization: can still be old-fashioned, staid, and slow to change
