The DO has a toxic and chaotic corporate culture. It continues to grow because:
the founder is a salesman
it empowers large corporations to greenwash
it hires quality employees who believe in the values that The DO claims to uphold
There are no foundations or processes, and there is an extremely high turnover. This is one reason why the company is constantly hiring. They overwhelm their staff and lose valuable knowledge when employees leave due to the absence of processes. Yet it positions itself as an innovative company, teaching innovation. The marketing messages are in complete contrast to how the company is actually managed. They sell leadership development programs, but the leadership within the company is not good.
There is an alarming pay disparity, with individuals performing the same work receiving vastly different salaries.
The company deceives about its impact, fabricates numbers, makes false promises about what it will deliver and falsely claims to be based in New York. There is no New York office or team.
The DO is inauthentic, not practising what it preaches. It attracts employees who are and takes advantage of that. The leadership refuses to take any action to improve the toxic culture. Running a company like this boils down to two things: status for the founder and getting rich.
