Pros

None, other than the lunches and dinners that Jane leaches off of all the sales reps.

Cons

Working here may seem like an amazing environment to work in. It is far from what you see on Instagram. It is a toxic workplace and the business owners can care less about their employees. You are expected to work your hardest but be paid the lowest wage. You are told that if you are loyal to them they will be loyal to you. After so many years of working for them and being loyal to them, loyalty was the last thing they had shown to my coworkers and I. You are constantly reminded that you are not as important as you think you are but you are easily replaceable. It opens your eyes to how the business owners only care about the patients money and not for their well being. Someone can come in completely unstable asking for procedures and Jane will take their money before even caring about their mental state. She will speak to patients like she is an angel but the second the patient leaves, she will bash about every flaw they have. Starting with their physical appearance to their personality, down to their financial status. Do not fall for her charm cause it will bite you back. As for Dr. Newen, he is the most arrogant, most controlling, and nowhere near personable with his staff or patients. He thinks he is the smartest person in the entire world and is never wrong about anything. I was brainwashed by working here but after I came to the realization of how toxic this place is, I would not wish even my worst enemy to be employed here. This place is just a place to mess with your mental state and all Jane does is bring out more of your insecurities. Constantly reminding staff that they need to get procedures done to better their appearance. Staff feeling like they cannot express their style because they will be judge by Jane and the Dr. They schedule us full time hours but only considered part time so they can avoid giving us benefits. Splitting paychecks into two so overtime is not accounted. And always asking us to skip our lunches, and if we say no we will be getting a long sigh and an attitude from Jane. This review is not enough to express the misconduct we received when we were employed at Image Center. Patients are constantly wondering why their employee turn around rate was so high. It’s because the mistreatment we received. Please think twice before applying at this place. It’s not as great as Jane forces it to seem on Instagram.

Pros

Great dynamic among the coworkers.

Cons

The Image Center comes off as a high-end med spa in Orange County when really it is operated like a low-end clothing store. There is no real management or HR team. It is micromanaged by one person who recently became co-founder and decisions are masked as tasks for other staff to do her dirty work. Management disguises their lack of benefits of insurance, 401k, PTO by highlighting free food (that is provided by our reps), free injections (if you are used for training), and reduced prices on products and other services. It is a luxury to have a proper lunch or break. We are constantly reminded that we are replaceable and injecting patients is "brainlessly easy, a monkey can do it". Management demands loyalty and open communication but cannot reciprocate the same to staff. They have no regards to patient care and staff's well-being. Complaints by staff or patients are repeatedly ignored for months. Management will only respond to complaints if legal action is brought up or if it defaces their image on Instagram or Yelp. Their only priority is closing/upselling their services (whether you are a candidate or not) even if it meant giving away free products, reducing costs for dirt cheap, or squeezing into an already overbooked schedule --cutting into a nurse's lunch time. The doctor does not see his patients, besides the day of surgery or unless patient demands to see doctor prior so consultations and assessments are not properly done. Post-ops are seen by basically anyone from the team besides the doctor himself. New nurses begin injecting patients after one training and front desk are providing Hydrafacial, microneedling, and Emsculpt treatments when they are not certified or legal to do so. My only regret was working for as long as I did and believing changes will be made for a bright future.

Pros

Great staff and co-workers that work as a team

Cons

The management at this company is disorganized and non-existent. In addition, they do not seem to care about their employees at all. Staff is not provided with adequate breaks and lunches. Nurses are constantly overbooked that they cannot take a full lunch break. In addition, they constantly reiterated that staff is "easily replaceable" and full time staff was not given PTO, holiday pay, or any benefits. Although it is a medical spa and plastic surgery center, management does not seem to have moral and ethical standards. For example, when COVID stay at home orders were in place, management did not close the office and elective procedures were still being performed despite this business falling under the category of nonessential. When businesses were able to open back up after the lockdown, there were no precautions set in place for the safety of the staff and the patients that were coming into the office. For example, nurses were constantly being overbooked, the front lobby was always packed with no social distancing in place, temperatures were not being checked, patients were not being screened, and patients were allowed to bring visitors. In addition, because the staff was not given adequate time in between patients due to the constant overbooking, rooms were not adequately sanitized. When one of the employees actually contracted COVID, safety precautions were still not implemented by the CEO and management. Patients were not notified that someone had contracted COVID at the office and the business did not temporarily close. Some of the staff members were scared of contracting COVID and decided to take a couple days off. Instead of management being understanding of the situation, they reprimanded staff for not coming into work and some were written up . There is no organization or structure to the training of their new injection nurses. They have new nurses that have no injection experience start injecting patients only after learning from the Doctor one time. The new nurses are not given enough time to train and are pressured to start injecting even though they may not feel ready. Staff is also performing procedures that seem to be out of their scope of practice. For example, aestheticians are performing microneedling with PRP procedures even though the state of California prohibits aestheticians from doing so under any circumstance. Another example is receptionists with no medical background being allowed to perform hydrafacials and emsculpt procedures for patients. The Doctor is not around and is not available to see not only his patients but also his staff that may have questions and concerns. The Doctor does not do his own consults for surgeries and does not see his patients for their post-op appointments. Staff must go through the CEO who does not have any medical background. In general, standardized procedures and protocols are not set in place and the lack of management and ethics make this business a very unsafe work environment.
