Pros

-there were nice people at the company that cared about you and your life outside of work ( unfortunately these are mostly people at a lower level in the company)

Cons

-pay is very low for industry standard -the atmosphere is hostile and competitive -the company is unorganized -the women's suiting business is a dying market -hard to take time off -terrible promotion rates -small bonuses that happen almost never -fear drives people to work hard -upper management does not care about your well being -HR is on upper managements side and will not stick up for you -poor work between departments -"every man for themeselves" mentality -stay away at all costs, not worth it -only good pay if you have been there for a very long time -many people are leaving, there is no company loyalty

A Bad Corporate Culture

Pros

Some of the other employees understand how bad it is there. It is nice to have a shoulder to lean on.

Cons

-The CEO is truly a bad person. The CEO is deceptive, dishonest and vindictive. And this abhorrent behavior filters down to the rest of upper management and they treat their direct reports in the same manner. -The pay is very low for the work required.

Awful management, toxic environment

Pros

Formerly a good company...still has a good foothold in the discount store market. There are some good people that work here and many that have been with the company for a long time. These people probably only still work here because there are good benefits for people who have a lot of years at the company. The hours are good- you won't have to work around the clock like you would at other fashion companies.

Cons

The company has been in a downward spiral ever since being broken up and sold. Upper management is not only clueless as to what their employees are doing on a daily basis-they also do not care. In their defense, I suspect it is because they are simply trying to keep the company afloat. People walk out or get fired with no notice often and are promptly escorted out of the building. There is one manager here who has no business being in a clothing company...or any company because he/she is so utterly clueless as to how both people and business work. I have seen this person and upper management continuously throw their employees under the bus...even firing people for their own mistakes that they couldn't admit to. It was maddening to see people get forced out of their jobs they had held for 20+ years all because of someone's deranged ego and consistent abuse to employees. HR is useless...if you complain you will get fired. This is why I left the company- it is an absolutely toxic environment that anyone smart would be wise to stay far away from. Also- the pay sucks and bonuses are minuscule if not nonexistent.
