Pros

The team in store really come together, but i think this is largely due to being in such tough situations that you become close and really look out for each other.

Cons

Where do I start? Training is absolutely horrendous. Non-existent, yet the pressure and expectation that is thrown at you makes you feel like you have done everything wrong. Upper management has been terrible - Find it very strange that 'management presence' somehow means to just sit in the corner of the cafe on a laptop helping nobody, pointing out the negatives and never the positives from across the store. We might be slammed, working on minimal staff, having no breaks, but god forbid the crisps are in the wrong colour order. We are scrutinised on labour almost daily, and told to cut peoples shifts yet when this is raised in meetings to management, we are gaslighted and told that we are to ask people if they would like to have a shift cut, not told. People are being discussed publicly in group emails, and group chats negatively. When discussing labour, we are simply told 'well according to the numbers, it was quiet'. I would love to see management work a weekend, never mind a busy Saturday on just 3 people (down to 2 if a break is taken) with queues out the door and the drive-thru full. Some staff are neurodivergent, yet this has either not been acknowledged, or definitely not accommodated when being outed. If issues are raised to management, the response is always 'what are you going to do better', yet if the store manager makes a mistake, they are then punished with letters and threats. I don't think management know more than 2 names within a store, and the effort to get to know any staff is zero. Staff are crying almost daily, having panic attacks because of the current situation and store management is doing crazy hours, covering several jobs, yet is also being scrutinised despite going above and beyond doing 50hours+ a week to try and keep the store going. We are told that the company is not a multi-million pound company, and that we are actually making a loss, and need to do better. Interesting when all the figures for the company as a whole are on Company House and say otherwise, all open to the public. If the company is struggling this much, surely a Christmas party for all the managers (only management) in Central London should be the last thing they need financially? Laughable.
