Pros

Group homes are kept clean. Members are pretty well taken care of. Lots of opportunity for overtime. Almost always hiring Decent insurance.

Cons

Micromanaging supervisors, who bend the rules whenever they see fit. The type who never see anything good, but always find something wrong. There is a major lack of communication, and management treats their employees as if they're incompetent. Plus "Article 9" gets manipulated in whatever way they want, whenever they want. If you try and go to Phoenix, they refuse to believe us because they think they know our managers down here "so well" and they don't have a clue. Until they overhaul the upper management down here, I wouldn't recommend the job to anyone. You'll burn out and lose your spirit.

Pros

We have very good benefits for employees. As a non-profit, the pay is on the lower end, but the reward of working for an organization making such a big difference is awesome. The managers are amazing to work with, and the leadership team is always trying to innovate.

Cons

Benefits for dependents are expensive. They are working on turnover, but it's still high (average for the industry).

Pros

The clients are truly a gem

Cons

Management doesn't care for their staff the way they perceive. They only utilize Staff for their benefit. I work here to continue being here for the clients, but a lot of staff here in the group home talk about how bad management is, I have witnessed management, do some sneaky and shady stuff, write people up when they let other people slide for other things. They have me going from Home to Home, and I get to see how unfair certain staff get treated. You really can't trust management, if you speak up, you will be a target on your back. They only care about themselves and covering their own self. I would not suggest working here unless you plan to really use it as an extra income job. Unfortunately, you can only care so far for the clients but when you start to notice other things going on, they are quick to try to cover them self. Many staff have quit in the past because of management. Staff only stay here for the clients, but once you become management, it's like people change, and they become shady snake.
