Pros

Opportunities for career and personal growth. ACs are able to lead accounts. Interesting accounts from food & bev, lifestyle, fitness, energy, retail and more.

Cons

My advice is for job seekers; this is not a place you want to work. A few weeks after I started here we got the news that my mom had breast cancer. I still worked, reached client KPIs and goals and she got better. Over winter break, we learned my dad had stomach cancer and would need to have surgery to remove it, plus chemo. I didn’t take a day off, continued to reach client KPIs and goals, then a pandemic hit and a few months later I was fired over a five-minute call while driving on the highway. I held my head up, went to the office to collect my things, and tried to leave with dignity. Amy Power, Founder and CEO, met me at the office. I asked for my personnel file and why I was only offered a week severance. Instead of addressing these questions, she let me know that she "intended to fire me earlier", but "my dad got sick and so we waited for a reasonable amount of time before letting you go" (which was in May of 2020, big COVID yikes). I collected my box of things and made those the last words she ever spoke to me. Amy boasts 34 years of experience in PR with 21 of those years as a CEO, and yet she determined this was the most professional way to let me go. You may think I’m bitter but I waited this long to share my experience at TPG online to ensure I saw things clearly. Now, I work with top tech clients! Four months after I started my current job I received a raise and four months after that I received a promotion. Both of my parents are cancer-free and I can honestly say now so am I!

Pros

Exciting client roster. Employees are fun and easy to get along with. Definitely an opportunity to make friends!!! Not too much after hour work expected. Great learning opportunities beyond just public relations. Lots of exposure to the business development process and more. Efficient and mostly clear processes. Dedicated CEO. Commitment to culture. It is an exceptional place to work if you are in the beginning of your career, but if you are mid-level or senior, I would not recommend.

Cons

Lots of promises are made upfront that never come to fruition. In addition, there are really only two voices that matter and anyone else’s opinions or thoughts are not taken seriously until people begin to quit. Criticism and feedback is constant - beyond a normal workplace environment, even when unhelpful or unnecessary, which causes burnout, loss of confidence/motivation, etc. They are looking to go back full-time to the office in September/October, which could be seen as a con to many in 2021! Overall TPG started as a dream-come-true, then slowly the facade began to crumble. Unfortunately, I was promised things upon my hiring that never came to fruition and felt insulted or picked on on many occasions, which pushed me to depart prematurely.

Pros

The interns were really sweet!

Cons

Let me just start by saying this is the most pitiful treatment of employees I have ever experienced. I moved from the east coast to join their team and was sold on fake promises and descriptions that were 100% false. All of the employees started as interns so they are friends aka when you try to join them they treat you like a sorority rushee and if you don’t fit in then you’re out. They have complete control over the CEOs opinion so basically she just listens to anything they say. The leadership is terrible, no one listens to you they just judge you and report what you say if it doesn’t fit the mold of what they want you to say. They will overwhelm you with tasks that are completely irrelevant to PR. They expect you to stay up till all hours of the night completing mindless tasks so they don’t have to. It is honestly sickening how they treat people. I would not trust them with my business so it is sad to see that people do. I highly advise against working here.
