Pros

The team here are a great bunch. Although all quite young with a slightly immature sense of humour, they are exactly the kind of people you need to get you through these long shifts. Kin, caring, and always uplifting each other.

Cons

The hours are long. Standard shifts are aboout 11 hours with unscheduled breaks that you don't get paid for. On a Monday-Thursday, this is managable, although not ideal. The weekends however, get ready to work long hours with no break, sometimes not even time to drink water or go to the bathroom. Not that you'd want to go to the bathroom in this place, as on a friday and saturday they are usually scattered with vomit, drugs, and urine. Working with the drunk public is a challenge no matter the setting, but here you will really see the worst in people. Regular fights occur, if they happen on the weekend they MIGHT be delt with by security. If they want to. If not, it's up to management, supeervisors, or sometimes just yourself to handle the situation with absolutely no training. Out of all the people I met, the owner was by the worst. If you are local to the area, his reputation already proceeds him. He has definitely got psychological issues and mixed with alcahol, you're in for a fun time. He is not unknown for screaming at staff in front of customers and threatening to fire people at minor incidents. Even if he talks nicely to you, know that he will talk absolute horrid-ness about you behind your back to other staff members and customers alike. You will be expected to clean up vomit, broken glass, drugs, etc at the end of the night. Some nights you may find you may not leave until 3:30AM/4AM in the morning, after close. You will not get paid for these hours. Not only that, but in the back bar, there is so much black mould and salmonella in the glass wash/ice machines I would strongly recommend against ever drinking out of a glass in this venue. Bring your own water bottle from home. Talking of pay, never expect it on time, or the right amount. It is consistantly late, or not your full wage. And you will have to be ready to consistently argue with the owner to be paid correctly. I would strongly advise to stay away from this place, even as a temporary job if you were absolutely desperate for money. Cleaners have it better than anyone who works here.
