Extremely Toxic & people keep quitting

Pros

The pay is descent but not enough to make me stay

Cons

Lay off's, promise of no more layoffs only to have another layoff. No credit for your work, they always want more even when you reach goal. You will be thrown under the bus at any chance for someone else to look good. Employees will talk behind each other's back and nice to your face. Management doesn't know what they want, each week it's a different thing to focus one. Managment doesn't have time to stop and listen to employees. Back to back meetings with no time to act on things. No training and not a safe environment for asking questions.

Toxic leadership

Pros

Kind, collaborative team on the ground, who strive to learn from each other and maintain a positive culture. You can learn a lot quickly.

Cons

Leadership at the highest level is incredibly toxic. Even with the small size of the company, leaders are completely detached from the day to day and incapable of even reporting on their own team's progress without the help of their reports. The executive team directly lied to employees about the stability of the company and the status of fundraising, which ultimately resulted in mass layoffs where the employees who were let go received just two weeks of severance. Employees who were told "not to worry" are now out in the cold, due to the mismanagement of budgets and timelines by the executive team. Leadership is openly hostile to discussions of DEI, hiring practices, or otherwise improving the working environment in any meaningful way. Employees who made it through the layoff include friends of c level hired outside of the normal process, and an underperforming exec who has had several serious complaints made about their interpersonal behavior. One of the company values is "Stay Human," and the leadership team utterly fails at that
