Pros

The base salary was decent.

Cons

Constant busy work and no real guidance or thought around process. Had to constantly ask to get paid commission.

Pros

Remote work is the only pro. There are very good people in the company, but toxic upper management blocks them to shine.

Cons

A terrible company culture where lying is so deeply rooted in it that you are punished to tell the truth or to try to improve the culture. When interviewing for the company, HR has promised a career plan from day one (no career plan at all exists, no development plan or even objective setting), uncapped salary raises (there is a strong cap that is often below food inflation, so they are real salary cuts), a turnover rate below 10% (in fact, the team has fully rotated twice in 4 years) and the classical "we are family" (which obviously doesn't apply). There are a lot of good people in the company, but management is awful, fully blocking growth by micromanaging and having a no feedback culture, meaning that if you do not proactively send feedback, no one will be there to list. And, if you provide feedback, they will make deaf hears and nothing changes or they threaten you to not provide negative feedback. People in the US are fired from one moment to the other. Replacements are immediatly hired instead of promoting capable people already within the team, blocking any personal or career growth. Leadership through fear/passive-aggressiveness is the preferred method at Tillster, if you have some out of the box idea or if you want to help the company to become more profitable, then you are either labelled as crazy or "that's not your job". Salaries are regularly NOT paid on the contractual time. And, in Portugal, there are no relevant benefits besides the bare minimum.
