Pros

It used to be filled with potential and great people. The best thing that happened to me was being laid off.

Cons

Layoff, after layoff, after layoff... The company blames on the market. The reality is their failures are their own fault. Tomo entered a business they knew absolutely nothing about, and refused to listen to those with experience. They mismanaged the millions of dollars they raised and spent on frivolous things like asinine offices in inconvenient locations, trips to palm springs, luxury items in the offices, flashy items for realtors, etc. The "look" was more important than the business. The culture speaks for itself... the good people move on and don't stay. If it's so great and wonderful, why aren't they there? There is a perfection culture that demands no mistakes. People walk on eggshells in fear of losing their jobs. Some people were allowed to work remote, and others weren't. It was often the lower paid employees that couldn't work remote because "we believe in collaboration." Zoom in the office is better than zoom at home I guess... The mortgage process Tomo claims to have "reinvented" is held together by bubblegum. The purchase close on time rate is a miracle on what little volume they have. I saw my colleagues in other departments in hysteria over loans and situations they couldn't control.

Ruthless Culture

Pros

Hybrid work schedule and above average pay.

Cons

Lay off after lay off. Firing after firing. The leaders at the top have no idea what they are doing or even what direction they want the company to head. They have made countless new employees move to a new city to only let them go because they over hired or they just don't like you. Then they post the same role back up and the cycle continues. The culture comes from the top. It's one of favoritism and micromanagement to the extreme. Everyone lives in constant fear that they will be the next to go and couple that with an HR department that could care less for the actual employee. Be vary wary of accepting a job here. The pay will sound great but once you are on board, you will be constantly overworked and never appreciated. It's the norm and expected for you to put in upwards of 60 plus hours a week so that above average pay you thought you were getting, becomes practically nothing considering you say goodbye to any kind of personal life.

Good ideas, poor execution

Pros

Good ideas, but poor follow up from leadership with no respect to industry guidelines, norms, and regulstions.

Cons

- Senior leadership lacks basic knowledge of the industry they are claiming to reinvent. Goalposts are moved by the hour. - Policies, particularly regarding remote work, are not fairly applied across departments. - Strong culture of favoritism and nepotism - Little transparency and culture of blame
