CNCs, Mills, Lathes, 3D Printers. - You invent toys, for a living. - Wear a lot of hats, and learn every aspect of the industry. - Lots of previous employs are now owners of their own successful toy businesses. - Pays well compared to other toy companies. - Learn the process from ideation, to manufacturing, all the way to sales, and the different pathways an inventor can take to sell their idea/product. - Go to toy industry trade shows, and make important connections at the after parties.
Cons
- It is a small business and deadlines will appear out of nowhere, and you need to get it done immediately. This is common. - Working late happens. - You need to be able to take criticism well. Not for the weak hearted person. - There are office dogs, so if you have allergies that might not be great. - The office can get a little messy. Toys and parts everywhere. - Your emails will be heavily criticized until they are perfect. We send a lot of them to China factories and vagueness will not be tolerated.
