Remote work benefits overshadowed by chaotic management and culture

Pros

Remote work, you can join the 401k immediately.

Cons

It seems like this company grew too fast, resulting in a chaotic mess. There doesn’t seem to be any structure or logic when it comes to decisions. Everything is always a rush, so things get done poorly rather than the right way. The training is non existent but they’ll expect you to know everything. The culture is terrible, it feels very disingenuous. There is a lack of diversity in leadership.

Remote work with high demands and unclear guidance

Pros

fully remote, MacBook computers, pay, charismatic CEO

Cons

demanding lightning fast and flawless execution of tasks without clear guidance - it feels impossible to do things on an immediate timeline perfectly without asking questions - you get in trouble if you aren't perfect but also if you ask questions - it constantly feels like a lose-lose situation.

Pros

Working with a team that built each other up, caring about one another.

Cons

Bonus structure/reporting metrics inaccurate, uneducated individuals in charge of call center without understanding of equipment provided/mandated versus optimal equipment required for less errors in dropped calls/inaccurate reporting dashboards. No follow through with cross functionality. Non transparent although promoted. Lack of growth and career development, although the mantra is to promote from within. A lot of smoke and mirrors, which I don’t put on my department/managers. That experience boiled down to letting go vital employees who implemented, persevered, and understood the importance of scaling. Once that was gone, others that were at the helm separated themselves from the WHOLE ecosystem. Those people were not in the right seat.,, A true leader communicates effectively with all cohesively. When you put people in charge that have a dictatorship mentality, versus a true leader that can actually do/understand the grunt work of at least 3/4 of the work force then most intelligent people will assume this is a path that I don’t or will be ran off. This may have changed since then, hope it has. If it has, for how long? Until someone that you said is valuable this year decides to give some insight about streamlining a process? Is that a leader? What is the philosophy? Stay silent? Have solutions? Is that viewed as negative or positive? Interesting.,,
