Pros
The one positive element I can point out is there are a few decent people unfortunately stuck working there. However, none of these people are involved in management, so their positive contributions are basically nullified.
Cons
You might thinking working for a vaporizer retailer would be a fun, chill job, but my experience here was nothing of the sort. I honestly cannot imagine a more unpleasant workplace due to the unabashed exploitation of the employees and mental/emotional abuse dispensed by management on a daily basis. This is exemplified by the insane turnover rate in the office, with at least 15 people either quitting or being fired (mostly the former) in the year I was there (and many more have quit since then). Management refuses to take any responsibility for employee dissatisfaction and will openly disparage past employees (and sometimes current ones) in front of the entire office using derogatory slurs. Racism, sexism, homophobia, human rights and employee standards violations are all common, and if you try to challenge any of these, management will target your performance and write you up for minor infractions which go ignored for more favoured employees. The lack of organization is stunning; new hires will just be standing around while management runs around trying to figure out what their role is. Even with longer-term employees, job titles are meaningless, tasks are assigned at random, and your role can be changed without consent. If you do end up working here, make sure you know your rights because management does not seem to care about them in the slightest. Also, be on the lookout for constant payroll issues and be thankful if you ever receive your (meager, sub-industry standard) paycheck on time and/or without errors. Seemingly the only way to advance is through sucking up to upper management and snitching on less favoured employees. Also, management insists on blasting Drake through the open office speaker on a daily basis so if you're not into Drizzy then working here will be particularly miserable. The entire experience working at TVAPE/TorontoVaporizer was incredibly disappointing, disheartening, and downright dystopian, and I cannot imagine it being a satisfactory working experience for anyone who actually values their time, growth, and sense of self.
