Pros

The tech is helpful to manage the insane workload they give you.

Cons

The management here is so out of touch. The leadership is young and immature clearly because they can’t handle feedback. In a “Town Hall” meeting they called to address any concerns we had they rolled their eyes at every comment and laughed when people spoke up. And then everyone who spoke up was fired. Literally. Jaw dropped. It’s sad to watch because the platform is great but they’ll probably eventually make it into an AI version because they won’t be able to keep the trainers. Currently on my way out because I don’t support a company culture like that at all. If you are a customer of Trainwell, a word of warning: it’s a personal trainer being advertised but what you are getting is AI. There’s no other way you can individually manage over 100 clients. Hope this helps.

Pros

The tech is really good and streamlines a lot of the processes of the job. The direct managers for trainers really care and want to support you in your work.

Cons

While managers are great, their hands are tied and leadership above them does not listen to feedback. They claim to care about trainer wellbeing; then, when deep-rooted issues of sustainability are brought to their concern by over half of their employees, they tell the whole team to just quit if they don't like how things are and we should be grateful to even work here. The founders are young and inexperienced and it is really showing under pressure. It is honestly baffling to watch happen in real time. You will be expected to work 6 days a week, with morning and evening call availability and this company lies about compensation in the interview process, so do not expect to ever earn commission. Overall, I recommend staying far away.

Pros

Schedule is flexible, technology can be quite impressive at times and management does seem to want to help and make things better. There is a lot education and a lot of support and I can see opportunity for growth here. I honestly love it, but there is one major glaring problem here around compensation.

Cons

My biggest issue is the compensation. To be blunt is atrocious. For the work and expectation of care it should be double what it is or at least a base pay closer to 60k instead of 40k. In today's economy that is just not livable income. Even with the commission structure its takes months to build up and it feels like a never ending mountain your climbing to get pennies on the dollar. You would have to take on an unattainable amount of clients to reach the higher threshold, even for someone who is a higher performer this isn't something manageable to actually reach. There is also not a lot of transparency around pay. When asked if there is opportunities of increase pay with tenure or even promotion nothing is really shared which is frustrating. If the pay were double what it currently is this would literally be the best place to work without question. The pay structure is a big red flag that needs to be adjusted.
