Pros

The mission of the company — helping people understand the biology of trauma and nervous system regulation — is meaningful and attracts people who genuinely care about the work. Some team members, particularly the virtual assistants, are incredibly hardworking and committed despite difficult conditions.

Cons

There is extremely high turnover and a lack of stable leadership structure. During the time I worked there, 4 employees quit and two were fired, which reflects the broader pattern of short tenures. From what I observed, most employees lasted four to six months, with very few staying longer than a year. Many people join excited about the mission and are initially given significant responsibility. However, that autonomy often shifts into intense scrutiny and micromanagement. Leadership frequently requires constant updates and regular calls to review work. When concerns about micromanagement are raised, this is described as “collaboration,” even when it limits the ability for experienced professionals to operate independently. There is also a culture of uncertainty around job security. Employees are sometimes told they may be “on the chopping block,” which creates unnecessary anxiety and instability. For a company that promotes nervous system safety and trauma-informed principles externally, the internal culture does not consistently reflect those same values.

Pros

None, really. You can gain a ton of experience quickly.

Cons

I’ve had quite a tumultuous experience working at THA, and after much thought, I believe it's important to share my perspective. During my time here, I was let go and rehired twice, which created significant instability in my career. The company's leadership, particularly the owner, who is a former surgeon (who couldn't make it as a surgeon hence why she's doing this), has a management style that can best be described as erratic and self-serving. Unfortunately, this has fostered an environment where employees are expected to be on call at all hours, yet there’s no compensation for this time. She always says 'in surgery or medical school all the work was done off the clock' - without paying her employees a surgeon's salary. I guess that's easy to do when you come from a trust fund. While the work itself has its merits and some of the team members are great, the overall experience is overshadowed by the toxic work culture and unrealistic expectations placed on the staff. The lack of respect for employees' time and contributions makes it difficult to recommend this company to anyone seeking a stable and supportive work environment. She berates people with her erratic communication and projects a lot of her negative impact on the team to other people, never taking accountability. She once made fun of me for crying when I was working 7 days a week. If you're considering a position here, be prepared for a lack of job security and a leadership style that prioritizes the owner's needs above all else. Also expect to be abused honestly. This woman is the worst. Proceed with caution. Aimie needs to practice what she preaches - it's super gross this is all under the veil of mental health. What she does for work she lacks at home and is obviously not healed herself otherwise she wouldn't work 24/7 and treat her employees horrifically while paying them an embarrassing salary.

Pros

Owner is good and nice at the start but becomes too controlling, doubtful and micro managing after some time. They have really good Filipino VA’s that do 90% of the work that runs the company.

Cons

You get reassigned from one post to another. CEO has tendency to overload her workers without even asking. They minimize your salary when you say no to new tasks and roles but they do not increase your salary when they add more tasks. High employee churn as many people quit and resign on a monthly basis!
