I have been working at Treyarch for more than a year

    Pros

    - stocked kitchen - cool coworkers

    Cons

    - After a leaker was fired the entire QA department was restricted from getting the leftover lunch orders for the developers so those lunches were thrown away. - Constant changes in testing focus cause some issues to get out into the live build then QA gets scolded. Its not our fault you dont let us fully run our tests. - Developers walk by and constantly complain if we talk even when we have to wait for a new build...

    Advice to Management

Treat your workers better. Just because they're hired through a staffing company doesn't mean you should treat us like dirt. Even you don't use the term mandatory doesn't mean its not mandatory, our jobs are at risk - that seems pretty mandatory to me.

I have been working at Treyarch for more than a year

    Pros

    - Fully stocked kitchens - Catered meals if working overtime - Easy access to highways - Looks good on the resume - Direct coworkers (other QA) are all great people

    Cons

    - QA is kept in the dark for everything - Schedule is not shared with QA until the day before - Overtime is all the time. Have worked 12 hour shifts 6 days a week for 8 months straight with no sign of slowing - No direct communication with prod/dev . They keep their distance - Toxic work environment - Holiday pay benefits changed two weeks before Christmas without prior notice. No QA received paid holiday with new...

    Advice to Management

Communicate schedules to everyone better with plenty of notice. Cool it on the overtime. Sure the money is good but there is no time for anything else in life ever. Find ways to have QA work with the rest of the studio. Too often it felt like an us vs them mentality because there is so little collaboration.

I worked at Treyarch for more than a year

    Pros

QA Testing Call of Duty is far more fun and engaging than corporate America. Management and the testers were very easy going. There were always tasks for us to stay busy. Free food for overtime and night shift. 24 hour fitness right next door. Occasionally there will be a build that needs to be pushed out that night and you can volunteer to help. It was a good experience for me feeling that I contributed to Treyarch.

    Cons

Not a con for everyone, but be aware of long hours and weekends.

    Advice to Management

Please open up your QA Tester positions! After a few years out of the gaming industry and getting my hands on Black Ops 4, all I can think about is how I previously logged about 1,500 bugs with bugtrack and elgato during my time as a temp.

I worked at Treyarch for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Was my dream job. - Lots of free swag. - Lots of free food. - Playing games with other people in person - Some of the other employees are nice to talk to.

    Cons

    - They fired me because they decided to retroactively change my lunch break time after I had already went on my lunch break. - QA level one employees are treated like they're worth less than dirt. - Last minute and Retroactive schedule changes, I was fired for this reason. - Many employees are fresh out of school and still have a high school mentality. - QA Leads will not talk to level one employees unlessit is to...

    Advice to Management

Give me my job back and they'll be no hard feelings. You literally pushed our lunch break back twice, retroactively. How can it possibly be my fault if I took my lunch break at the time I was told to and then afterwards you decided to push it back again. Come on now, this was your blatant miscommunicatuon and mismanagement of time. I was literally the #1 hardest working employee as proven by my performance. You broke...

    I worked at Treyarch full-time

    Pros

Large bonuses and high profile content. Brilliant talent and hard working people.

    Cons

75-100 hours per week almost all the time. Meetings on Sunday night and phone calls in the middle of the night were not uncommon.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your managers and senior people instead of repeating the same mistakes. Get more than 1 HR person.

I have been working at Treyarch for more than a year

    Pros

Treyarch is an amazing studio full of staggering talent, brilliant minds, and genuine people. There are no slackers here, only hard-working individuals with passion for what they do. It's inspiring to be around. Not only that, but management is comprised of people that sincerely want the best for their team. I've been with other studios and there's an extra element of professionalism here. They certainly don't compromise...

    Cons

The nature of game development requires long hours and a lot of "crunch" time. I think most know that comes with the territory. Would be nice to be full-time (not temporary).

    Advice to Management

They're awesome! Very cool people. Maybe would be nice to see them around more or have more interaction with them.
