Pros

Let me start off by saying that if you DO NOT want a door to door sales job, I would highly recommend that you DO NOT work here. The one pro to Tri State Sports is that the staff was vey nice (almost to the point that it was creepy)

Cons

I came into my first interview extremely excited about this job because the ad online said that it was a sports marketing position. Boy was I wrong. It turns out that it was not marketing at all. It is selling a package of discounted sports tickets door-to-door for $50. You go to any and all businesses such as supermarkets, wholesale stores, nail salons, department stores, etc. soliciting to both the customers and staff of the stores. During the interview, their big pitch was that you should be on track to be promoted to a manger in 7-12 months from when you start. They say that you can get rich fast because managers make over $150K. Now I am not denying that you will make that much money because I never got to the manager position but this is how they get you. They feed off of recent college grads who don't know better. They tell you that you to stay and work really hard doing door to door sales until you become a manager so that you can open up your own firm doing the same thing in another city across the United States. This job is definitely difficult as it requires you to work long hours 6 days a week (7:30AM-7PM). The job is 100% commission based until you become a manager. you get $10 for every $50 ticket package you sell starting off and it increases only few dollars per sale . There are no benefits until you become a manager and there is no paid time off because it is 100% commission based. The breakdown of the job is as follows: PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE COMMISSION BASED FIGURES, SO THEY ARE ESTIMATES FROM TRI STATE SPORTS. THE AMOUNT YOU MAKE DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU SELL Training: 6 Days - $300 (only receive after working there for 2 weeks) Brand Ambassador: APPROXIMATELY 2-4 weeks - APPROXIMATELY $300-$600 per week Account Manager: APPROXIMATELY 3-6 months - APPROXIMATELY $400-$800 per week Assistant Manager: APPROXIMATELY 2-4 months - APPROXIMATELY $1,000-$2,500 per week Manager: APPROXIMATELY 12-16 months - APPROXIMATELY $150,000 base salary The Brand Ambassador and Account Manager positions have the same responsibilities, but you will make more money per sale depending on your position. Again, this is 100% commission. These positions are all door-to-door sales The Assistant Manager position stays in the office and runs the office. They do not have a base salary. Their salary is dependent on the sales of the Brand Ambassadors and Account Managers The Manager is the first position that they say has a salary. If you want to do door-to-door sales and you do not mind 100% commission and long hours, then this may be a job for you. But this is not a sports marketing job.

Pros

Great people to work with, team nights, meetings, and uncapped earnings.

Cons

Their job ads are very misleading, they claim they are hiring for a marketing associate, and no "door-to-door sales" is mentioned. During the interview process, they will tell you that you have the opportunity to make $100K+ when you make it management, which is probably true. They tell you that it will take you anywhere from 12-16 months to get there, not sure about that. They will sell you ideas, and tell you how there is so much room for growth, and how they are opening more locations to promote people to management in order for them to run it. This is more of a management training program. This job requires a ton of hard work. You have to work long hours, typically 8am to 6-7pm, commission-based with no base salary, you have to sell sports game tickets to people who typically don't want them so be prepared to get a lot of no's, work 6 days per week, no benefits offered - you have to get medical, dental, vision through the marketplace and you don't get paid time off. It is a very demanding and physically challenging job. You will need to be on your feet for hours, going door-to-door to sell game tickets. Each ticket costs $50, but you only get a $10 commission if your are an Account Executive. If you are in a higher position, you will be compensated more. You will have to opportunity to make $1,000 per week, but you have to sell a lot! As far as growth opportunities, I have not seen anyone get promoted; however, someone was being considered for a promotion when only being there for a week. If you do not mind working long hours, 6 days per week, can be on your feet for extending periods of time and enjoy walking all day, are an excellent seller and people person, and don't mind getting commission-based pay, then this job is for you. I would recommend working somewhere else, where you can earn a base salary and commission. Most retail / sales jobs do - start there first before considering this company.

Pros

Nothing. The real company name is sports inc 2000. Looks at their reviews. The name on their door is tri state sports but on the paychecks it says sports inc 2000? Extremely shady. Probably changed the name because of their horrible rep.

Cons

They lie about compensation. On your first interview they claim they pay for your training but they don’t. It’s 100% commission and you will not move up in the company no matter what so don’t bother wasting time
