Pros

I worked at tutu school in two separate locations. I absolutely ADORED my time at my first location and loved the management, the people, the communication, and all the resources provided to the teachers. I worked at the first location for about a year and miss all those amazing humans back there!

Cons

The second tutu school location I worked at was absolutely terrible. No classroom management, no communication, no resources. The owner of this particular franchise spot was incredibly rude, passive aggressive, and downright mean to me. I taught over 19 classes a week for her and occasionally text her about issues or questions regarding operations. She would ghost me or only send a few words in reply. I just recently left and she treated me even worse after putting in my two weeks, even commenting about how I will hate my new job. If you decide to work for a tutu school location, be VERY careful about who the owner/boss is. Some are great, some are the most disrespectful managers you have ever worked for.

A lot to work on here

Pros

Kind studio owner, understanding parents for the most part, super cute environment, good introduction to teaching or working with young kids and good pay

Cons

There's not a way to get a lot of hours here, so even with the better hourly rate than other jobs, it's only good for supplemental pay. I've been with this company for almost a year, and I loved it at first! However, you still need to stick to the curriculum from franchise which gets kind of repetitive for both teachers and students. You are also expected to work retail, sign students up, stay talking with parents, open and close, on top of teaching by yourself which gets really overwhelming. Enrollment also goes on all year round and it's hard to build on what they already learned with constant enrollment. There's not much variety we can do with the curriculum we are required to stick to. Birthday parties are also hard as it's an itinerary that is supposed to work for all ages. A party for a two year olds will be different for a party for 5 year olds. There also isn't time in the parties for families to enjoy food they brought and I've gotten complaints on a past birthday party that the older guests just sit and watch. Hard to please everyone here.

Pros

Tutu school was such a welcoming environment to work in. The direct management and upper management were all so involved and supportive towards staff. All staff were also very collaborative in teaching style and tips. All while spreading the joy of music and movement for young dancers.

Cons

I did not have any negative experience.
