Flexible Work Schedules -- ability to work from home PTO -- personal time off that is paid Insurance benefits An HR manager that tries
Cons
Flexible work schedules -- only if you're one of the "special" chosen few who are given this privilege PTO -- you're only allotted so much per 2 weeks; anything outside of this you will be pointed for emergencies and/or sick children (unless again you are "special" and can work from home) *Please note we used to receive PTO at the beginning of the year; now it must be earned on a bi-weekly basis. This is also unfair to tenured employees who had to work a full year before they earned the privilege of PTO--our PTO has already been earned from the previous year yet we suffer for this) Insurance benefits that are have such high deductibles that an average family can never meet Unfair point system for absences and emergencies -- even using your PTO can still result in accumulating points because you didn't give enough advance warning for your emergency Upper management -- staring with the CEO and includes all "vice presidents" (and there are several). Upper management will not respect you or your opinion. They will "notice" you only when they need a scapegoat for their bad decisions. Separation of "class" -- treatment of the warehouse as if they are "beneath" the office personnel (example: limiting their times at "special" company events; not letting them leave as early on Xmas Eve as the office; no flexibility in making up missed hours); hourly employees vs. salary employees -- hourly employees are not given the same benefits as salary employees including but not limited to flexibility of schedules; ability to work from home; long lunches;....yet all new hires in the office seem to be brought in as salaried employees with benefits while long time tenured employees are still hourly Treatment of tenured employees is abhorrent. Besides usually being the first to be "picked off" in a sudden mass lay-off (to pay for the "mistakes" of the management team), tenured employees are not respected for the loyalty or even recognized for their hard work and dedication. Out of the mouth of our own CEO - we are the little man behind the salaried employees (whom are often recognized in our corporate meetings time and again). No more bonuses for lower employees Lower employees are given the jobs of 3-4 people, while higher employees cannot even bring themselves to show up on payday Fridays
