Pros
Croom is a wonderful place to work, the ADONs are genuinely caring and accommodating. The theatre, day ward and Maigue Unit are modern, high class units. We have one of two bone banks in the country and the Pain Clinic is award winning (literally). It is an elective and ambulatory trauma surgical hospital, urgency is few and far between. The pre-operative assessment team and the Amb Trauma CNS play integral roles in ensuring patient safety. There is ultra-modern equipment used by highly trained and skilled surgeons and an excellent learning hub for medical and nursing students. Overall a brilliant place to work!
Cons
Getting to Croom from Limerick City is easy if you have your own car but public transport isn’t very well established in line with working hours for nurses. There are plans to introduce a UHL-Croom transport service in the pipeline 🤞🏼
