Pros

Lovely people in my immediate team. I personally get a reasonable salary for what I do.

Cons

It seems pretty chaotic at the moment and has done for months. There are many people leaving from different departments and senior management have yet to address the workers concerns. Unfortunately I can see this problem getting worse.

We are sorry to see that you feel unhappy although we do genuinely want to thank you for your comments, as hopefully we can address some of these in this response. Firstly think it would be good to acknowledge that immediate teams make up a very, very important part of working life, and how people feel day to day, and we do know that we have amazing people across the UK Flooring Direct family in all of our many teams, and so it's good to read that your direct team are lovely. Unfortunately over the past few months, we have seen a rise in natural attrition, for various reasons, and I think it's fair to say that this is a trend happening not just across the UK, but globally right now off the back of the pandemic. We understand attrition, especially with close teams can change the dynamic and feel different, although we are certain the projects we have as part of the on-going people strategy, including culture & values, talent development and health & wellbeing, are all adding value to our people and the business daily. We have always said, as a fast paced growing business, we constantly have to evolve and look at what, how and why we do things, and will continue to do this. As you will know, we do annual surveys, of which the last one this year got us recognised as a 'One To Watch' by Best Companies to Work for 2021. We have also recently launched our internal people forum - a platform and place for representative from each department, to ensure as a business we listen and respond to what our people are telling us. We're already seeing positive results from this. I would encourage you if you feel able, to reach out to someone (one of the HR team / your line manager / a senior member of another team perhaps) if you would like to talk more or for us to elaborate further on what's happening and more importantly, what's to come for UK Flooring Direct. I am certain with some clear communication we can help understand views better and strive to make any unhappy worked a very fulfilled, happy worker.

Pros

Good work life balance due to hybrid working

Cons

Online businesses do need to be fleet of foot, but that is very different to constantly changing major decisions around product areas that will / wont launch. brand strategies, M&A, Above the line activity, prospecting strategies, CSR statement, partnerships and affiliations...you name it, it changed...constantly There was a feeling of having no control, no say, no ownership and as such people have left in their droves...most voluntarily They rode the wave of lockdown, but did not and have not changed their strategies at all and as such as the world opened up and people could spend money on stuff other than home renovations, their business slowed down...adding another 'I told you so' frustration for the colleagues who had been trying to grow and diversify the strategies employed Avoid this place...

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your experience working with UK Flooring Direct. We do encourage hybrid working which gives our employees flexibility to work both from home and from the offices. We have had feedback from our employees on how they feel hybrid working encourages a positive work / life balance and promotes a culture of trust. As a growing business, we need to ensure we are adapting to external changes within the market, which can mean decisions being made and reprioritisation of inhouse projects. Throughout COVID-19, the situation in Eastern Europe and the cost of living impact, it has meant at times we have needed to change our direction of focus in order to do what is best for the business, our employees and our customers. We understand that change can sometimes be perceived as a negative, however any changes made are considered thoroughly and only made when in the best interest of our employees to future proof the business. in these chalmenigng times. We regularly get great feedback from our employees on how we have talented people working at UK Flooring Direct with unique skills, who are experts in their field and real team players. Through our partnership with North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College and local universities, we support our family members through their development and offer a range of training, qualifications, apprenticeships alongside performance reviews and goal setting process to aid development and provide clear direction. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and would like to thank you for all of the work you have contributed to during your time with UK Flooring Direct. We always consider the feedback we receive, in the hope of continuing to make UK Flooring Direct the best place to work.

Pros

Meet some nice people who will tell you what this place is really like.

Cons

Seen people come and go..over last few weeks I’ve seen much more experienced people have left the slow sinking ship .. recently their trainer has been made redundant so now they cannot train anyone new..also their new manger has been sacked(who’s only been in the business for 3 months, which in his defence he wasn’t provided any training so he had no knowledge of the products or the system correctly).. head management is not organised or understanding..their calls are not recorded or monitored (not following the GPDR guidelines when they should) CEO & HR doesn’t care.. especially if your own mum is on the death bed.

We are sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your experience whilst working here at UK Flooring Direct. We pride ourselves on creating and maintaining a really positive working environment and always find ways to involve everyone. We think this shows our commitment to our people and for example we recently reviewed our Company Values and gave everyone the chance to take part, with over 2/3 of our people contributing. Our Values are Family (all our workforce), being Professional, being Driven and being Customer focused. We are also confident that your views aren't shared by the vast majority of our people, as shown by the recent People Insights survey that we ran in May and which showed a well engaged and positively-intentioned workforce. Our CEO has made it very clear that he wants to foster an environment where everyone has a smile on their face because they are respected and work on behalf of UKFD's customers because they believe in the products and our mission. We've been investing in our people significantly this year and have a plan to get even better are what we are doing, by investing in online training capability later this year, spending more time with understanding what UKFD employees value and getting them more involved in understanding the business and in decision making in their own work areas. It's an ongoing process and will continue to grow and develop as time goes by. We also invest in designing and providing training to our team in the Contact Centre, with a dedicated trainer there, which we're sure you must be aware of, and take our responsibilities super seriously in all areas and especially data privacy. And because we are a family business, with its own "Family" of employees, we always take time out to understand people's needs and have a track record of providing time away for anyone who is ill, or recovering, or having to care for relatives, so at the risk of contradicting you, we're sorry, but we don't recognise your comments specifically about those matters. We take everyone's comments seriously, we always listen and we always want to learn and improve, which is why we are always working to foster a working environment where anyone can share their thoughts and feelings. So, as you can tell, we do feel strongly that some of your views, whilst personally felt by you, are based on major inaccuracies and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss that with you, so that despite your disappointment, you might feel more positively about us? If you'd like to do that, please contact HR on the email below. hr@ukflooringdirect.co.uk
