Pros

The only pro is their occasional incentive trip

Cons

Management makes a mockery of the slogan "because you matter" because in reality the behaviour shown towards staff, clients and candidates alike entirely contradicts this. An extremely misogynistic work environment, led by management with inappropriate comments and behaviour towards the women in the workplace. For a place that preaches diversity, I don't particularly think it is very diverse to fat-shame women, only hire women that management thinks would "look good in a bikini" and in general objectifying women. When comments have been made about the inappropriate relationships between management and some of the women in staff, they would be laughed at and turned into a joke. Management constantly preaching consistency when the lack of consistency in the company was laughable. First round of staff being paid a zero-base salary, on the grounds that the OTE would be anywhere between 100-150k in your first year of recruitment. This was then boosted to 12k on the grounds of giving the team more stability, while also not being comfortable so that they can strive to work hard and make commission. Management preaches "work-life balance" when the option to work hybrid was out of the question for a long time. On top of this, it is expected, and said in a backhanded way. for people to work way overtime, on weekends & on on bank holidays in order to "be successful." There is nothing "you matter" about this company. In my opinion, it's run by a group of cowboys who think they're above the law, and lack any sort of morals, integrity and respect which is funny as they are the very values that they supposedly live and breathe. The fact that they have also been winning awards has made a mockery of the ex-staff who have been severely burned by UMATR. I can genuinely say, this company is the worst company. I have ever worked for and would strongly advise anybody who is looking to join this company to seriously consider why the majority of staff have not made it past the one-year mark.

Pros

The incentives can be fun. But they will be held over your head if you have any negative feedback at any point.

Cons

The company are not what they seem from the outside. Their marketer does an amazing job at making UMATR seem like a great company to work for but this is very false. They advertise that “people matter” and that they are “diverse and inclusive” when this is far from the case. The company promotes an unhealthy work attitude where they expect everyone to dedicate their life into the business. The company are always finding ways to screw staff, candidates and their partners out of money by finding “grey areas” in contracts and legal papers. 4 members that has left the business has told management that inappropriate behaviour is a factor in them leaving however, the issue was continued to be laughed about rather than addressed. The office is very mysoginistic and management has made comments such as “anyone that gets pregnant will not work for the company” and that they “only hire females that look good in a bikini”, yet they promote an inclusive culture. The OTE is not sustainable, after promoting £100k OTE for over a year, no one within the business has made close to £100k. They also had a lot of time where the staff were paid below minimum wage on £12,000, they hired their first round of employees with no recruitment experience so that they could manipulate them into thinking they could be paid £1k a month because they would hit the crazy target expectations that no one in their first year of recruitment could ever hit. UMATR have been awarded highly prestigious awards due to the culture and values they promote but do not live up to. They discuss the end goal is to end homelessness in the UK by donating money to charities however, far much more money is spent on vanity and incentives and their statistics are not what they show through marketing. I would advise anyone joining the business to take everything that management says with a pinch of salt, as the majority of it is nonsense.

Pros

Dog friendly office and occasional incentive trip

Cons

- No work/life balance (expected to work outside of hours) - Unprofessional management - No real support for staff - Blame culture - Terrible salaries and unattainable OTE structure - Advertised flexible working but in reality there was only one remote day per week decided by management and sometimes you didn't even get that
