      Pros

      Can make your own hours. Booking app and customer relations hotline make things easy.

      Cons

      Employer skims the vast majority of the ticket revenue. No pay per guest -- just a flat rate per tour regardless of how many guests are booked. Was supposed to receive a t shirt, a lantern, and EMF detectors, but they never arrived. So I run in period garb. At my own expense. I'm about to go freelance because aside from the nationally recognized name and the Xola booking app, USGA is a net negative to my bottom line.

      Pros

      Lots of independence. Very good support team to help you out. Essentially only part time, except for on holidays when you work an insane amount of hours. Very competitive pay.

      Cons

      Some managers are a little out of the loop/ ask odd questions. Tips aren't always great. Work drops off to maybe 4 to 6 tours a month during the off months. Hiring process was very long and hard.

      Pros

      I like the job in itself of sharing the history of my home town and the tales and stories that exist.

      Cons

      They do not communicate, they give you different information and never consistent and apparently like to breach your contract and what you actually sign. I have been given the "run around " about EVERYTHING and not to mention the lack of communication on things such as supplies, my name badge and business cards. You need to ask questions about everything before signing and agreeing to anything!!!!! And make sure your information on history is accurate and scripts are not fake or sound like the are AI written.
