Pros

I like the job in itself of sharing the history of my home town and the tales and stories that exist.

Cons

They do not communicate, they give you different information and never consistent and apparently like to breach your contract and what you actually sign. I have been given the "run around " about EVERYTHING and not to mention the lack of communication on things such as supplies, my name badge and business cards. You need to ask questions about everything before signing and agreeing to anything!!!!! And make sure your information on history is accurate and scripts are not fake or sound like the are AI written.

Pros

I LOVED working for US Ghost Adventures. My job was to write and edit ghost stories as part of the script a ghost tour guide would give to their customers. The editor I worked with was fantastic--so understanding, clear with the company's expectations, and, above all, fair. The work was intense, involving deep research, and writing a certain kind of "spooky" ghost story. Because each script needed 7-10 stories, it was difficult writing new, unique stories. But as I had never worked as a storyteller, it kept me on my toes and gave me valuable experience.

Cons

Considering the intensity of the work, the pay-per-hour should be a bit higher. In addition, when I was hired, I wasn't told that the work was seasonal. In February, I was informed that the work would be ending in March. I was sooooo disappointed. Hoping to be rehired this fall.

Pros

Can make your own hours. Booking app and customer relations hotline make things easy.

Cons

Employer skims the vast majority of the ticket revenue. No pay per guest -- just a flat rate per tour regardless of how many guests are booked. Was supposed to receive a t shirt, a lantern, and EMF detectors, but they never arrived. So I run in period garb. At my own expense. I'm about to go freelance because aside from the nationally recognized name and the Xola booking app, USGA is a net negative to my bottom line.
