Treat employees poorly

Pros

There is nothing professional about this company.

Cons

When company's shed clients like UltraViolet has, unfortunately someone has to pay. Of course, the suffering didn't fall on the executive goons who lost the clients - layoffs fell on a large number of employees - with no warning. A respectable company who has layoffs shows some decency, compasion, respect by telling employee's to there face that layoffs will have to occur, were very sorry, etc etc. Not UltraViolet... without any notice, employee's began their work day to find they're access blocked, accounts removed. UltraViolet treated employees who worked hard, supported clients with praise from clients like they were to blame or had committed some egrigious crime against the company. And no consequences for the execs. After seeing the thoughtlessness UltraViolet showed these employees, it is difficult to remane with the company. they have no regard for employees or clients.

Pros

Primarily a remote work employer. The CEO seems to know what the company needs to do to be successful.

Cons

The CEO is either shielded from knowing about the bad business practices and decisions being made by other executives, or is good at acting like he is leading a company being driven to succeed by executive leadership. Overworked due to company-wide under-staffing that stems from a "do more with less" mentality. Company has no loyalty to its employees. I originally held an executive agreement, as the SOC Director, from one of the merged companies, which they voided by requiring me to sign an at-will employee agreement after the merger. I am the person who came up with the "UltraViolet Cyber" name for the unified company. I successfully joined the processes and personnel from disparate SOC teams over the last three years to lead the department that held the highest profit margins anywhere in the company. Despite all this, I was suddenly laid off without notice or severance, right before the holidays. Executives will lay off employees without notice and will not bother with any knowledge transfer, so their coworkers are left unsure how to perform their functions, or even an understanding of which functions they performed, leading to a knowledge deficiency trend across the company. Executives will hire their friends to lead sections of the company where leadership already exists, and push out existing, experienced leadership. I used to be a member of the DEI committee, which was dismantled after layoffs exclusively removed persons of color and women in my SOC in September 2023. I attempted to lead the re-establishment of the DEI committee, but could not secure executive sponsorship. As such, there are no active DEI initiatives within the company to drive diversity and inclusion, negatively impacting the culture of the teams. I was told that I "chose to work in a SOC," so should expect to have to work 24/7 and that I must check for and respond to all emails and direct messages during off hours, which eliminated any sense of work-life balance. This was further compounded by an executive sending messages and emails as late as 2 AM and on weekends.

Clueless Executive Team

Pros

Remote work and flexible PTO

Cons

The executive team is lined with liars and heartless people. When times get tough, their first action is to reduce staff just so their income and bonuses are not impacted. They say things are great and there is a lot of work for everyone but this is a continuous lie. The C Level have no clue what it takes to run a company and certainly have no clue what it takes to take care of employees. They ignore facts and constantly seek to trim the company rather than grow the company. There are also lies about growth opportunity. There is no growth opportunity since they keep bringing in their friends to be a part of leadership.
