Pros

This is an phenomenal job that marries a drive to do important and moving work and a desire to gain key skills and knowledge for law school and a legal career. There are substantive, though-provoking, and challenging tasks to do on a daily basis. I learn new things every day and have consistently been asked to make significant contributions to individual cases and been included in key discussions about the organization's mission and direction moving forward. My coworkers are passionate, talented and supportive and the benefits are excellent.

Cons

The workload is very high. Also, when you work in the world of the parole process, the prison system, and criminal justice reform, problems can seem insurmountable, decisions by the state frequently appear arbitrary and cruel, and there is effectively no end of people who are in need and suffering.

Pros

My experience working at UCL has been great. People are very dedicated to the mission and all come with their own background and expertise-very willing to share their knowledge and offer advice.

Cons

The field is by nature very challenging and can take an emotional toll.

Pros

Small Office Friendly Staff Helps inmates get out on parole if they show good behavior and are ready to return to society

Cons

I didn't like how at the end of my summer internship, they were confused about my work schedule. They also knew I was a student but seemed to neglect this fact when I told them I can do an internship and school without pay
