Pros

Great team of people, smart driven. I learned there every single day. I could see my impact as a contributor. Bonus plan, profit sharing, it was good. The work was hard and rewarding but it was good.

Cons

Since the acquisition things have changed. It's no longer people over profit (but always strive to be profitable). I understand the reasons behind the latest mass layoff but I think it could have been used as an opportunity to bring up current employees instead of firing the old ones to make way for the new. We were told with the acquisition they would bring in new people and we would rise but they seem to bring in people at the top and then they bring in their people and the ones that built Unanet are pushed to the side instead of given opportunity. I understand it from a business perspective but it's sad to see the culture that Fran and Chris created and nurtured die.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree that we’ve built a great team of smart, driven individuals and we so appreciate that you found the work that we do rewarding. Our recent growth investment has positioned us to advance our product and service offerings and to offer even greater value to our customers and future customers through automation and new technologies. To continue on this path of growth, our organization has evolved and it will continue to do so. What will never change is the respect that we have for our people and the appreciation that we have for the contributions they make to our success and the success of our customers. Our decision to eliminate a small number of positions was not easy, but it was necessary to our long-term success. We never want anyone to leave Unanet on a low note and we’re committed to fostering a culture where we continue to build people up. Thank you for your contribution to our business and we wish you both personal fulfilment and professional success in your next endeavor.

Just Don't Work Here

Pros

They offer remote work. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the company's only pro.

Cons

The leadership at this company is a mess. Seriously, I wasn't there more than a year, and I cycled through four different managers. Leadership doesn't seem to understand the product that they are selling and quite frankly don't care about their employees. Turnover is really high. Every team is understaffed, and people quit due to burnout. I knew several employees that left for lower paying jobs with worse benefits just to get out. If you don't know how to do something, don't expect any help or guidance. You might be the only person left on your team. I was on a team that comprised of 5 people the year prior to my arrival, and by the time I got there, I was the only one left. This company offers unlimited PTO, but their internal business model seems to be assume people will never take PTO that way they can continue understaffing their teams. The HR team here pushes really hard on "caring about their employees." I don't see any evidence of it. I got added to an additional team, so my workload more than tripled. The company offered no additional compensation even though my job no longer matched the requirements of when I was hired. When I was swamped with work and customers were getting upset with me, leadership offered zero respite. Oh there's also zero job security, People who have worked there for a decade were let go of just randomly. Finally, the timesheet keeping system was an absolute nightmare. The official policy was to have 75% of your hours be billable. The implied policy was 90% so have fun with tracking time each week. Leadership only cared about the current week's revenue, and did very little future forecasting. So if they didn't think that you were making enough revenue this week or next, you'd be gone. Leadership also let go of people because they didn't have "directly billable" hours to the client. So don't even think of applying for a position where your hours are not being billed to a client.

Thank you for your feedback. It’s never easy hear someone has had a negative experience working at Unanet. As we continue to grow, we continuously evaluate how we can better support our customers, partners, and employees. We encourage every employee to take ownership of their own career, be it expressing interest in internal growth opportunities, asking tough questions, and raising concerns. Our leadership team is committed to ensuring our employees are enabled to do their best work because we know that employee satisfaction drives customer satisfaction. We also know that in environments that offer an open or unlimited PTO benefit, employees don’t always take it. Because of feedback from our employees, we have actually implemented a minimum guidepost for PTO usage – we want our employees to take time to relax, reset, and recharge. We work very hard to foster a strong and supportive work culture. If you have any additional insight, we encourage you to reach out to Human Resources Team.

Pros

Great healthcare benefits and some great former colleagues.

Cons

If you are a company that has been acquired by Unanet you are treated differently than those that apply to work here as a new employee. Start looking for a new job if they acquire your company! This company is all about promoting compensation through title change rather than an earned salary. This I am speaking of in context of to pre-Covid as the company will likely try to justify that they are still paying bonuses as I’ve read in other employee reviews. You will get paid more at a new firm. The salary difference is substantial for outsiders and insiders as well as for women and men. I am a woman with a masters degree and 10 years of CSM experience. A counterpart, male, 5 years CSM experience with a bachelors whom I had to train was offered 20k more for the same job as a new hire. So, by all means if you are a man and new applicant this may be for you, but ladies beware.!!!! A title upgrade is not as valuable as a salary compensation!

First, thank you for your feedback. We never want anyone to feel that they've had a negative experience on our team and I'm disappointed to hear that that has been your experience. Diversity and Inclusion is paramount to our business. Our customers come from all walks of life, and so do our employees. We're proud to be a female-founded technology company that has continued to promote a more equitable representation in STEM, both here at Unanet and in the community. We take internal equity quite seriously, including from a compensation perspective. We appreciate you sharing your opinion and we thank you for your longstanding contribution to our business.
