Tragic story really.

Pros

Only if there was a time machine.

Cons

This place was built on the backs of an amazing group of people who were slowly pushed out one by one after a complete change of management that tried to wash the company of any creativity, uniqueness, agility, and any other positive superlatives one my lay on a company that was once growing by leaps and bounds. It was a magical place for the 10+ years that I worked there, that defied the odds and dominated the business sector. So sad that a new leader / hodgepodge management could take the reins and essentially push a wildly successful ESOP right into chaos in such a short amount of time.

Unexpected Twist of Events

Pros

The memories and connections that were made prior to things going south.

Cons

Let me begin by saying that yes… I am petty. I don’t care. I’m not interested in pretending that my experience working for Unbound Solar was anything but what it was. The people deserved better than what they got when Wil V came on board. I and many others were treated poorly and saw a pattern of behavior that was more than concerning so it was time move on. The CEO is more than difficult to work with. His ego and insecurities from being pushed out of his last job run the show. Watch for triangulation, intentional misrepresentation of the truth and lack of genuine depth of understanding when it comes to understanding what is going on at the company. You’ll notice patterns if you watch closely enough. If you literally care about nothing else but making money then this might be the gig for you but if you’re the type of person who doesn’t want to constantly watch their back and prefers to treat others like they are more than just objects then this isn’t it. It was difficult for me to believe that Wil V did not get joy out of punishing people when he was unhappy with them. It’s bizarre and uncomfortable to watch or be subjected to. He is only interested in having people on board that he can control and does not respect boundaries. Have fun getting burned out and not having any semblance of a life outside of the organization. Also, be prepared to be ridiculed in front of your peers. It’s unfortunate, really. The extent to which you are forced to compartmentalization what is okay doing to another person isn’t worth it. Again, he doesn’t respect boundaries so you are taking a chance working at this company and thinking you can show up and lead how you lead best. You don’t get to be yourself here. Very different company than when the Coleman’s were on board and not in a good way. Beware.

Pros

Both locations are great for outdoor life.

Cons

CEO (Wil Van Dewiel) is manipulative, lies, and only out for himself. It is so sad because there are so many good people in the business that I have worked with for a few years.
