Pros

Location of London labs is good and very commutable. Unilabs provide opportunities to progress and become accredited.

Cons

There has been no HR department for 6 months. Employees have their annual leave randomly selected for them by the lab manager in relation to resource and workload - annual leave will be repeatedly denied and there is little empathy for peoples' personal and home lives. Awfully low salaries and no access to salary review/pay rises or even annual bonuses. Very anti-social lab culture with low morale - colleagues are passive aggressive and non-communicative. No regard for work/life balance. No HR procedures/processes to escalate complaints. Staff are viewed and treated as disposable. Very high staff turnover. People are generally miserable. If you do or are planning to work for Unilabs, join a good union.

Pros

Free tea and coffee was just about the only pro

Cons

Very structured working environment. I worked there for a total of 28 days and then handed in my notice. I worked with the IT Department.. very rude staff members within IT, exclude you from conversations when you are in the same room and do not acknowledge that you're there. Very low wage. Awful working environment. . Treat you like a child even when you have a wide range of knowledge and experience. 28 days was 27 days too long.. Avoid the IT support position at all costs
