Pros

pffft...... some of the products work pretty well, but you've got competition that makes the same thing for cheaper...

Cons

the cold call, no-appointment approach died with Avon and The Fuller Brush Man, be prepared to get asked to leave or told 'they're not in' - even at the established accounts...they look at you like you've brought the Ebola virus and so you can't have any personal hangups (i.e. wanting others to like you).. Training is a joke, salary is even funnier (for the few months you actually get it), and they wonder why they can't keep people in the field...Huge learning curve (over 75 products), all while getting a little more than they pay Dairy Queen staff. Long-timers are the only ones that make any money, and don't plan on having a life after 5pm, bc you have to do so much prep for the next day to get on the road by 730am. Website and upper management are throwbacks to the 70s and they chant "do they Five Steps" like a zombie soldiers. Do yourself a huge favor and DON'T WORK HERE.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience while with us. We take reviews seriously at United Laboratories. We are a 55 year old employee-owned company. We offer more than 600 products and new employees receive training every 4 to 6 weeks in their first six months with us First year earnings are between $51,000 and $66,000. Reps can access everything they need from iPad provided and from our app that offers training videos. This job is difficult and not everyone makes it. Thank you for your efforts while you were with us.

Pros

All sounds good until hired!

Cons

Lies about income-$600 a week ends up being more like $450. Only given 6 weeks to make $8000 in sales or more, until they drop you down to straight commission, then threatens you about it Trainer really doesn't teach you much, believe they get part of your 10% commissions, when they guarantee salary for the first year. They give you a territory so Rural that the cities and towns don't have any money to buy their expensive products.

Thank you for your review, we truly appreciate it and take reviews seriously. We hire sales representatives for the territories where they reside. You live in Jonesboro, AR. I know this because we have only hired one rep in rural AR in the past five years. From where you live, Little Rock is 130 miles away and too far for you as a territory. You still wanted the job so we hired you for Jonesboro and told you that you could also work Memphis which is the closest large city to Jonesboro only an hour to the east. You were paid the First Year Comp plan, I believe the confusion you write about above is over gross earnings vs. what you netted weekly. United Labs cannot control your net earnings. This is different for everyone depending on whether you signed up for benefits, your tax bracket and if wages are being garnished for child support, etc. Our sales trainers do not receive any commission from the sales representatives they train. All commission while a sales Representative is being trained goes to the sales representative.

Pros

If I could think of one, I would post it. Unfortunately, I can't think of a single good thing about this company. Well, I can think of one good thing. I was smart enough to realize early on during my employment that this is not a company I want to work for.

Cons

Company employs liars, sales shysters, rude, condescending, non-responsive to communication and totally unprofessional people in management positions. Pathetic training period. Company supplies outdated lead information printed from AOL (Half of the so called "leads" on this listing have been out of business for several years or are not even located at the address shown. I had several addresses that were empty fields! If you do not return everything (AT YOUR EXPENSE) that the company supplies (sales forms, catalogs, product information sheets, "good willies" (little worthless gifts that they want you to give to cold call clients) they threaten to take you to court to regain the cost of these products. While you are working as a regular taxed employee, they threat you like an independent contractor and charge you for every slip of paper or other tool used to demonstrate their product (INCLUDING product samples). They will send you items that you NEVER ordered and then deduct the cost from your salary. They are a very unethical business and if there is anyone considering accepting a position with them, my only advice is to run away as fast as you can.
