Appreciate your feedback! We are saddened to hear that your time spent at Platform.sh was anything less than an amazing experience. Your feedback helps us to continue building upon our goal of providing the best remote experience for all our Platformers. Regarding your concerns on having poor management, it is always a goal of ours to provide training to all new managers and request they go through 6 coaching sessions. It's not always perfect but we are continuing to learn, grow and develop our teams. Thank you again for sharing.

Pros

Some of my peers did know how to do their job well and were real fun to work with.

Cons

- People are promoted based on longevity instead of competence. (See the Peter Principle) - Very poor vision

We are sorry you have not had a positive experience working with us, and this is a shame as we do commit to having a differentiated and engaging work environment. We are taking your opinion seriously, but please be assured that promotion is merit-based solely and that our team does have a clear vision on where the company is heading to. We wish you to find the perfect place for you to grow.

Pros

From the exco level down there is a real people come first culture. People genuinely care about you and prioritise the health and happiness of you over project deadlines. The company is now completely remote and offers lots of flexibility - teams are well experienced with international work timezones which makes the whole ship run really well. There are offices in US and Paris as well. Very collaborative place as projects in product are influenced by stakeholders from around the company. Not one persons opinion is valued more than the other. Pre-covid, we spent a week with your team and then another week with the whole company in a different city around the world (not sure when this will be back though :( - but that was surely one of the perks to meet and workshop face to face with your team. There's annual performance and salary reviews Professional development budgets and support You work with exceptionally smart and highly skilled people from around the world which elevates the product and your own work. Overall in my career this company is the healthiest workplace I've experienced, from the people to the quality of work and the product itself. It's why turnover here is so low and the average employee has likely a 2-5years tenure. Most people stay and I can see why. Renumeration is also consistent with the industry and is location based which makes it fairer.

Cons

Not being able to see your team, work the whole 8 hours in their timezone, or celebrate wins on fridays like in-house cultures have. (this is a generalised remote workplace issue though). There are times when features are held up due to higher priority engineering work so new releases can be parked for a short while but that's normal and understandable at the same time.
