Pros

None, they lied to get me in the door. I wasn't able to accrue clinical hours or have an intern for SIFI certification as promised.

Cons

The direct supervisor was a complete lying bat and her supervisors supported her lies and manipulation due to favoritism. The tearful sisterhood over miscarriages and failed IVF attempts created a very strong bond of my direct supervisor and higher up, against the over worked me. I was forced to do manual labor literally helping pregnant residents with moving from shelter to shelter. I was forced to spend hours driving clients to see apartments or moving them. I was penalized for asking for help and pointing out that I was doing everyone else's job and had no time or support to do my own job. I was fired after being a whistle blower when I made a formal complaint against supervisor and other staff for treating a Caucasian staff differently and excluding her from staff activities. My direct supervisor threw a pen at me nearly poking my eye out and had me doing most of her work while she stole company time. The whole company lied and fired a number of good quality staff who stood their ground and whistle blowed about abuse witnessed or experienced. I was there a little over a year and in that time a number of vulnerable clients complained about staff stealing from them, sexual assaults and aggressions and the complaints were ignored and staff who brought concerns to light shortly were terminated later for bogus reasons or they quit after experiencing hostile work environment. This is a dangerous place for clients and staff.

Pros

THERE ARE ZERO PRO'S WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY

Cons

Let the start from the rude receptionist at the main office. When starting the job HR is extremely helpful and welcoming but that is just a ploy.Once you settled in their true colors start to show.NO ONE will pick up the phone for you.At times it may seem like NO ONE works at the main office.THE CEO DOESNT care and tries to use the fact that he is AFRICAN AMERICAN to sympathize with the struggling african americans working for him at low wages. The benefits also SUCK.They want almost half the low wages you earn for healthcare.

Pros

The mission is an awesome idea and much needed. People have definitely been helped but it depends on whether the shelter managers are bullies or good people.

Cons

Screaming at employees, racist name-calling, threats of physical violence. Bullies are everywhere and are encouraged. People behave in ways that would lead to lawsuits anywhere else. Rampant backstabbing, lies, and gossiping. Only the psychopaths -- and there are at least a few -- and the truly incompetent last more than 2 years. The number of people quitting every month is staggering. Plus they pay well below market rate and will burn you out with working afterhours. Seriously, just do yourself, your career, your friends, and your family a huge favor and keep away.
